Nov 6, 2014, 10:02 AM

Here's something I found on their website

Nov 6, 2014, 10:35 AM

"From the beginning, Starbucks set out to be a different kind of company. One that not only celebrated coffee and the rich tradition, but that also brought a feeling of connection.

Our mission to inspire and nurture the human spirit – one person, one cup, and one neighborhood at a time."

I hate that crap. Just make the dern coffee.

Falsehood flies, and truth comes limping after it, so that when men come to be undeceived, it is too late; the jest is over, and the tale hath had its effect: like a man, who hath thought of a good repartee when the discourse is changed, or the company parted; or like a physician, who hath found out an infallible medicine, after the patient is dead.

Nov 6, 2014, 10:11 AM

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Your brewer should maintain a water temperature between 195

Nov 6, 2014, 10:12 AM

- 205 degrees Fahrenheit for optimal extraction. Colder water will result in flat, underextracted coffee while water that is too hot will also cause a loss of quality in the taste of the coffee.

2024 purple level memberringofhonor-greenr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

205 is pushing it

Starbucks has always interested me

Nov 6, 2014, 10:15 AM

So has the phenomena of bottled water as well. You know we are still in relatively good times when people pay $1.50 for a bottle of water and $5 for a cup of coffee. It also means we're still being stupid.

Personally, $5 for a cup of flavored, watered down, spiced up, altered, sweetened and fattened coffee does not strike me as something worth my $5. I drink my coffee strong and black anyway, so Starbucks probably hates me as much as I hate them.

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-15yr.jpgringofhonor-tiggity-110.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Its not really 5 dollars for a cup of coffee

Nov 6, 2014, 10:17 AM

the largest cup of just coffee at starbucks is 20 oz and costs around 2.50

All that other stuff is lattes and cappuccinos and mochas and what not and not a typical "cup of coffee"

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK.....so $2.50 for regular coffee is still too much***

understand or a trashy chick who I'm pretty sure I went to high school with. The Russian does a better job, but the trashy chick is a 8/10 on the trailer park hotness scale so I prefer her.
