Spurrier Bails after this season

Random comment yes BUT, after 2 ego-bruising defeats + his age + plus the timing of "always being a Gator" and "I'll just head to FL" comments, I can't help but suspect he's beginning to feel like he's at the end of the line with "greatness" now out of reach. This was their time, this was their big chance and I don't think he's got the patience (or tolerance) for another year. I can see him leaving and throwing the whole football program under the bus on the way out. Just a speculative random thought.

I don't think his ego will allow it.

Egos like that want to go out on a high note. IF this was to be that year and it turns out to be the "year that was", he's toast.

OBS didn't exactly go out on "a high note" with Redskins...he saw he was in over his head and bailed

Isn't he within reach of second for all time SEC wins? I think he stays until he reaches that.

I would not be surprised to see the Ol' Ball Sack fragged soon with all of the lack of respect he is showing to his "troops".

Budget time, trying to keep people employed at my plant rather than overseas plants, etc. Pretty tough these day!

He has to stick around to get the title of winningest coach

in Coot history. He's at 61 wins now and needs to pass 64 W's for that. After that, it's anybody's guess on how long he'll stay. With 4 games left, OBS could come into DV tied for that record at 64. We win and that would force him to a must win in their bowl for that record or he will have to wait till next season.

coaching losses in Coot history at 37. Next loss gives him sole possession of that record. 2nd place is 53 Ls but I don't see OBS hanging around long enough to pass that.
Most games coached in Coot history record stands at 140. OBS would have to stay 3 more seasons for that one.

I said when Spurrier was hired that he'd be there 8-9 years, tops. He'll bail either when he wins an SEC championship there, or when he realizes his team has peaked and he'll never win it. I don't think this is the year, but I think the clock is ticking on next year.

I agree that this might be his last hoorah. I have never liked this arrogant, self-serving #***#. Didn't like him at Duke, UF, or with the dirtpeckers. I have listemed to BS all year from folks I did not even know rooted for USC...real band wagoneers....NOW...I can hardly wait to just grin & not say a word. Let them suffer baby. I don't think this USC can come together for the rest of the season. Already a lot of blame slinging & funger pointing. THANK YOU JESUS for Dabo & our entire coaching staff....I REALLY believe we are building a great program and restoring it to its rightful place. FANS...there will be bumps so keep the faith. GREATNESS for CU football is coming.
