Spring game thoughts

QB: Cade will be fine but still presses too much. New system. Missing a lot of key contributors. Basic scheme yesterday. Accuracy is good. Really lacks a big arm though. Vizzina has potential but Helms or Tyson will be the #2

RB: Depth looks okay behind Shipley and Mafah. Dominque and Adams Jr are fine. Jay Haynes and Green will be here in the summer. We have a great 1-2 punch. But we could be in trouble is one of them gets hurt.

WR: Antonio and Cole were the only playmakers we had yesterday. Brannon is just bad. Noble isn’t ready. So the worries about this group are slightly overblown. Beaux is a good WR. The coaches rave about Randall. Stellato and Taylor are probably as good as Brannon. Hopefully between Hanafin, Brown, and Misun, one of them will be ready to contribute. Grisham needs to be on the hot seat though.

TE: Briningstool can be a star. Ennis and Sapp look ready to contribute. This will be a really good group when Olsen and Dixon arrive this summer.

OL: Leigh is inconsistent but you can see flashes. Wouldn’t be surprised if Tate starts at LT and Mayes starts at LG against Duke. Sewell can contribute this year. Owens and Reed need to redshirt. Linthicum is starting to come on. Sadler can contribute. Parks and Putnam will be good. This group will be fine, just not as good as we would like.

DE: Denhoff and Parker look like they’ll be the two backups. Greg Williams and Jaheim Lawson are just guys. Zaire’s potential is evident. This group depends on XT. Still worried about them.

DT: Woods was as advertised. Stephiylan and Burley will be really good. Capehart looks ready. This group is elite.

LB: Carter and Trotter Jr are the best LB duo in the country. Woodaz can be great. Dudley flashed. Jamal Anderson needs a big summer, but he showed his athleticism. This is a good group.

CB: Nate is a true #1 lockdown CB. Toriano can be that 2nd guy. Malcolm will be huge in the slot/dime. Shelton Lewis flashed. This is a good group when everyone is healthy and ready to go this summer.

S: Mukuba is primed for a big year. Mickens is consistent. Khalil Barnes showed his versatility. This is a good group when everyone is healthy and ready to go this summer.

Well thought out... my two cents. Went to the game so this is not from the broadcast.

QB: Cade will be fine but still presses too much. New system. Missing a lot of key contributors. Basic scheme yesterday. Accuracy is good. Really lacks a big arm though. Vizzina has potential but Helms or Tyson will be the #2
- CK2 seemed a step slow in delivery, not sure if that is by design or an area they need to develop. His feet will be an asset. He has a cannon for an arm, he was throwing 55-60 yards in warmups without any effort. he does tend to put air under the ball. He missed Turner early in the game on an under throw. Tyson had the best quick release of all 4. Helms showed more maturity. Vizzina is going to be good once he settles in.

RB: Depth looks okay behind Shipley and Mafah. Dominque and Adams Jr are fine. Jay Haynes and Green will be here in the summer. We have a great 1-2 punch. But we could be in trouble is one of them gets hurt.
- was surprised by both Dominque and Adams, they played really well. I think we are good at RB, much better than I expected. Hope these guys can run routes and catch because that is part of this offense.

- Agree.

TE: Briningstool can be a star. Ennis and Sapp look ready to contribute. This will be a really good group when Olsen and Dixon arrive this summer.
- Did you miss #44? Pope? He was all over the field... We have a really solid group at TE.

- Agree, still learning the new scheme so have to give them some room, and the talent they were against is pretty good!

DE: Denhoff and Parker look like they’ll be the two backups. Greg Williams and Jaheim Lawson are just guys. Zaire’s potential is evident. This group depends on XT. Still worried about them.
- agree

DT: Woods was as advertised. Stephiylan and Burley will be really good. Capehart looks ready. This group is elite.
- this is a really good group.

LB: Carter and Trotter Jr are the best LB duo in the country. Woodaz can be great. Dudley flashed. Jamal Anderson needs a big summer, but he showed his athleticism. This is a good group.
- agree

CB: Nate is a true #1 lockdown CB. Toriano can be that 2nd guy. Malcolm will be huge in the slot/dime. Shelton Lewis flashed. This is a good group when everyone is healthy and ready to go this summer.
- this group should be really good, wish we had our better receivers out there to see how they progressed.

S: Mukuba is primed for a big year. Mickens is consistent. Khalil Barnes showed his versatility. This is a good group when everyone is healthy and ready to go this summer.
- agree

Special teams - we have some legs... that 51 yarder would have been good from 61 yards. Also kicked the ball out the back of the end zone. Punting should be ok bit was a bit inconsistent.

Again thanks for taking the time.
