Swinney compares Travis Etienne to NFL legend Walter Payton

Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney was a guest Monday on the 'Move the Sticks' NFL podcast with Daniel Jeremiah and Bucky Brooks. During his interview, Swinney compared running back Travis Etienne to a beloved all-time great in the NFL. "My running back, I got a comparison for him," Swinney said about Read Update »

I just pray that he can avoid what appears to be turning

into the "Clemson Jinx". Seems like the first thing our guys with potential do in the NFL is get hurt. Spiller, Nuk, Watson, Sammy, all have been injured at some time or another early in their careers. In Sammy's case, nagging foot injuries have plagued him his whole career. I just want to see Travis and Trevor avoid the injury bug, and realize their potential. We need some of our guys to start having long, successful NFL careers, if for no other reason than it builds the Clemson brand.

Spiller , Watkins, even Watson were always banged up when

they were here, it's not surprising that trend continued when the level of competition took a huge step up...Truthfully, Trevor played here with a torn labrum longer than he played with two healthy ones and Travis was noticeably banged up all last year...It is a physical game

Dabo's prediction of Deshaun compared as Jordanesque was fair enough. If ETN stays healthy, Dabo may have another great call.

Deshaun is a long way from Jordan. He was on that level at Clemson but not in the NFL.

He has the potential to be a HOF, but the GOAT? Noooooo, not

Travis was the best back I saw during the last 47 years of having season tickets at Clemson. Wow, as great as he was, how great he could have been! Enough said.

Sweetness could walk the entire field on his hands

And he could run over off balance DE's, LB's and S's.

I love some ETN, but IMHO a much better on-the-field comparison is Alvin Kamara or Marcus Allen if Dabo wants to go old school.

Travis reminds me of Adrian Peterson with his ability to get to the second level really quickly and then shed tacklers.
