On a side note, if Maryland bolts to BG10

Nov 17, 2012, 7:57 PM

Which I don't think they can afford to...

Then Swoffie needs to get Louisville and not UConn. Louisville can bring football and basketball to the league whereas UConn does nothing for our football.

ACC has already said no to Louisville.

Not a first tier school.

Think of the future, not the past or present.

I agree South Florida could be a good team

Nov 17, 2012, 8:09 PM

Cincinatti might be another one.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Nope, none of those teams have fanbases

Nov 17, 2012, 8:18 PM

FL is already split between UF and FSU. USF has like 40,000 enrollment and those people pull for one of those two schools or else the Buccaneers. USF couldn't even fill the stadium a few years ago when they were ranked #2. Louisville and Cincinnati are comparable, but I don't think either is a good decision long term. If you're not going to a 4 team pod system, just stay at 14.

The problem is, if MD leaves we will be at 13.

Nov 17, 2012, 8:20 PM

doesn't quite work.

Re: The problem is, if MD leaves we will be at 13.

Nov 17, 2012, 8:21 PM

why not, just have 6 and 7 team divisions

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I'm not even convinced Uconn basketball will remain

Nov 17, 2012, 8:00 PM

all of D-1 football. Their football team consists of over half the team coming from Juco and prep school.

They abslutely don't belong in the ACC. And trading the DC TV market for the Lousiville KY market would really hurt the negotiations on a new TV contract.
