off-campus hotel and only a 39% chance of them graduating because they probably rarely see campus. Then they play in the only off-campus stadium in the ACC. Sure is a unique college experience.

I am probably going to catch h*** for this, but I really don't give a crap about the graduation rates for our players. I want to see a good product on the field on Saturdays. If a player takes advantage of his opportunity to get a degree and better himself more power to him. If not and he just wants to knock heads for 3 years more power to him.

This sounds like a sour grapes type of post for getting beat by those #### again

athletics and lets just pay players to play. If there is a thing called a "scholar-ship" then graduation is important.

going to watch Clemson because the show of college football is unbeatable. I like how baseball is attracting more kids despite the option to go pro right away. The recruiting games that go on there with kids going pro right out of high school or not can really level the playing field. Suddenly three star kids that really want to be in school and compete on the field are a hot commodity.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

That is really selfish...

sounds like you only care about a player if he can play football and not what happens in his future. Would you want your soon to playfootball on the college level, not get to the NFL and not have a degree to fall back on? I sure hope that is not what you would want.

You are going to catch hell! I would give back any of my college degrees in order to sign a contract for a few million dollars. It's one thing to drop out and go dig a ditch, but to make hundreds of thousands of dollars or millions of dollars without a degree is o.k.

Take a guess how many players went missing from the SCaR scholarship roster before 4 years of eligibility were completed (from 7/08 to present)?

10 to 20 would not be surprising. 30 to 40 would raise some eyebrows. 50 would be shocking! Well according to one their own web sites....64 players since 7/22/08 have prematurely exited the SCaR roster.

And that does not include 17 commits that did not qualify in that same period.

My point is, as much as I hate losing to the #####, my opinion is that they are winning on the backs of the used and abused recruits they con into trusting the OBC. Then to add insult to injury the few players that do stay can only hope for a 50/50 chance of even graduating.

So it may take awhile before the pendulum swings back our way, but when it does, not only will the football victory be sweet but we can hold our heads high knowing that the majority of our players will also be victorious in life.
