No this was a failed coup attempt by the powers that be. When they brought Harsin in they didn’t think he could actually insulate the program from their control and ability to stain reputations. He has taken out a lot of trash in a short period of time (not Nick Eason) and hasn’t let their blackmailing stop him from marching on. If they would just leave him alone for 3 years he would begin to remove some of that permanent stench that has wafted over the program since Pat Dye arrived in 1981. But being Auburn boosters they prefer the stench.

that Auburn doesn't have a basis to fire him for cause or the financial capacity to firm him for convenience.
Basically, they're stuck with him.
