I believe they seek positions of power more. Not all psychiatric professionals agree that they're two different things, anyway. Sociopaths can be just as calculating and lack a conscience just as much.
And both parties have that market cornered quite well.
Bill Clinton was likely a sociopath. Hillary seems even more qualified. Trump checked all the boxes. I would not argue Bush or Obama were sociopaths.

I can go on and on with the criticism of him. But he doesn't hit the traits of psychopathy.

I tend to lean more towards extremely misplaced arrogance; I have a feeling he learned he wasn't quite the #### he thought he was as he approached the end of his term.
I can only think of one "extreme" narcissistic president in my lifetime, and he's still on the news too much. Trump's narcissism puts self before country. Despite Obama's faults, I don't believe he (or Bush or Biden) would do that. The Clintons? Absolutely.

I’ve always felt that Obama wasn’t far behind on the narcissism scale. He just happened to have the self-awareness and social graces needed to toss a thin veil over it. Actually, that doesn’t help the sociopath label (which I don’t know if I believe either). They’re usually high functioning socially.

I'm sure Obama got too caught up in his rise to stardom. But if he wasn't humbled (and really felt it) following Crimea and Syria, well, okay, I can see that being the case. Or even the Democratic fall in 2016 to Trumpism. Someone like him SHOULD look at that and say, "Okay, clearly I did something wrong."
