I talked to KJ's little brother at the game. He said KJ is going pro.

That's obvious, but will it be after his senior year?

I think this calls for a peppercorn/horseradish reduction.

If he does--he'll be making a big mistake. If he could make 25 % improvement next season on perimeter shooting & ball handling over this year, he will increase his draft stock by a bundle. Team will be better next year andhe will get more exposure across the spectrum. I hope the lure of oney now and gathering spinlters for too long in NBA does not bite him. He really needs to think this decision through.

It really does not matter if he improves his draft position in the long scheme of things.
Lets say he is drafted 20th this year. His salary will be 1st year $1,134,500 2nd year $1,185,600 3rd year $1,236,600 option 4th and/or 5th
Now lets say he waits and is drafted 12th next year. A move up of 40%. It is hard to see him ever above 12th.
1st year $1,683,500 2nd year $1,759,300 3rd year $1,835,000
Basically an extra $500K a year IF IF IF IF IF he moves up to 12th , a big question mark. He could move down or up
PLUS the biggest consideration is that he believes he has a long NBA career which mean he can "get paid" after 5 seasons when he hits the open market.
In his mind he can start the clock after this season towards a big contract while waiting another year does not guarantee any extra money and at most just a token compared to what the open market will pay after he puts in his time.

He is good at taking it to the basket, but he is not a good shooter, avg at best. If he came back next year and worked a BUNCH on his shot, he could be a top 15 pick

I disagree most of the mock drafts I've seen have him going in the first round. I think he will impress at the pre-draft camps as well. I think he should go this year.
