Sorry but I don't trust Dabo on injury updates

Oct 13, 2014, 12:05 PM

Guy is way too optimistic on injuries. Charone Peake was 100% according to Dabo.

DW getting hardware in his hand is concerning. I think he's out 6 weeks at least. I hope I'm wrong

"However, in simple terms, you should be back to work / sport in 8 - 10 weeks" (broken bone in the hand, includes fingers)

Now, you could "rush it" and get back in 5, but that is causing great peril...

I would not rush it ... suppose he re-injures it? The "RG3 Scenario".

If I was King, he would not come back till his hand is completely healed, 100% ! AND, rehabbed ! Even after its healed, you gotta think the hand is going to be stiff, and then you have to really practice ....

Watson IS the future ! I would not rush to get him back this year. IF he's back 100%, fine. If he's not, so be it. It's then Cole's job to do the best he can.

I think him playing at GT will depend on our record

Oct 13, 2014, 12:25 PM

If we lose again before then, just hold him out til the coots. If we have a shot at the playoff then we need to play him.

Playoff? Are you out of your GD mind? Playoff? Mora's

And ranked in both of the other polls with a great shot at going 10-2. At least one 10-2 team is making the playoffs. Why not one who hasn't lost since September that is undefeated at home?

Playoff HAHAHAHA you got to be kidding. if he's not ready for GA Tech I wouldn't play him against the coots if he can get a medical red shirt. does anyone know if he can qualify for one? I don't know. if he can't then play him and the bowl game.

that 8-10 weeks would be without the stimulation things they use now. He will probably wear one of those most of the day. Most people do not receive the daily therapy that DW will receive. He will also most likely receive cyrotheropy (cold treatments at the beginning) and then Thermotherapy which can help with range of motion and helps produce oxygen and nutrients and good blood flow around the area for faster healing. There is so much treatment that he will receive that the normal person does not receive. And it has been reported that the bone he injured is one of the fastest healing bones in the hand.

...tendency to risk injury based upon his slight frame at this point.

That hurdle last week, now this nasty looking takedown by the DB. That play looked very similar to the play when Sammy was pulled down during a game with Wake Forest where Sammy messed up his shoulder.

I'd prefer that DW be more aware of his value to the team by playing to not get injured. I am aware that this may be perceived as "playing scared", but he is an elite QB talent that the coaches must do more to protect than exposing him repeatedly.

I also recognize that the play he got injured on didn't look that bad. However, a high speed chase to the sidelines with a closing DB at full speed? Maybe a "duck the head" and take a slide would be more appropriate.

Just sayin'.

I agree. He has to avoid contact like everyone on defense has Ebola. No more stiff arms. That's a million dollar arm and hand. He has to protect it at all costs.
