Does it really matter what type gas/fuel vehicle
you drive if when you stop to get gas/fuel
there is none
The price of gas/fuel is about the only thing that is fair
when you buy it's the same price & road tax per gallon for everyone

* not anymore

Because of the fuel tax not being touched since George (the first) Bush's days, fuel tax isn't a user fee anymore. EV taxes often cost more than would-be fuel taxes depending on state. Other states are now using sales tax for highways (which often taxes urban/suburban folks more), as if your property values/rent are higher, the store charges more, and thus you pay more as a %.

In NC, some are panicking the "fuel tax" shortage being caused by EVs but the truth is that increase in "gas guzzler" MPG is driving that shortage.

For example:
Someone going from a 30mpg to 40/50mpg sedan to hybrid or even electric is only changing their tax (assuming NC's fuel tax of 36.1 cents a gallon) from 1.023 cents per mile to 0.72 cents per mile is barely a change of 29.6% in fuel tax savings. If you go full EV, you have to pay $130... or for 10K miles, that is 1.3 cents a mile. or if compared to a 50mpg car paying $0.0072 per mile, nearly double a hybrid.

Now lets compared a light-duty truck. The best case example of an F150 from 1995 would get a combined 15mpg but folks were opting for the 4.9 V6 but rather mostly for the 5.0V8 that got a combined 14mpg. Now that "same displacement" 5.0 is getting 20mpg and really the big power 3.5Eco get 24. So that old '96 50.0 was paying about $0.0258 or nearly 2.6 cents in tax per mile to about $0.0015 or 1.50 cents per mile. So with that different it is a 42% decease but more importantly, a 1.1 cent per mile "loss" in revenue compared to a 0.4 loss froma sedan to an hybrid.

Now, there are a lot more F150s and similar than corolla to priuses, so the impact is wider... and now the EV owners are paying pick-up level amounts of tax...

The best part of the Prius, or any of the plugin battery powered cars, is the replacement cost of the battery. Those things are super cheap to replace once you have 100,000 plus miles (or about seven years of use) on the car. And the batteries are 100 percent recyclable, no hazardous materials or landfill required! Keep on keep’in on!

Nothing is 100% recyclable there is no way. Speaking of batteries have you seen the ecological destruction lithium mining causes?

100 percent correct. Tesla.... one of there cars cost 48,000 to replace the battery after 7 years on the road..... And yes the battery is considered haz mat and can not be put in your local landfill...
