Hawaii under blizzard warning as 12 inches of snow and expected
The warning from the National Weather Service is in effect from 6pm Friday to 6am Sunday. More than 12 inches of snow could be coming to the mountainous regions on the big island.

The Big Island is an amazing place with amazingly different microclimates.

One March I was swimming at A bay in 80-85 degree air temperatures looking up at Mauna Kea which had snow down to the 9000 ft level.

I’ve been in 30-35 degree temperatures on the upper reaches of Parker Ranch.

Very cool place!!

Kauai as well. The east side is a jungle because of prevailing winds bringing moisture in. The west side looks like the surface of the moon. Kinda surreal - a knife edge of microclimates. Seriously. One side has the wettest place on earth, and the other a Hawaiian desert.

Go west young man! If you go, definitely hit up the Big Island(Hawaii). It's much bigger than the other islands and has so many different things to see. Not as busy as Oahu or Maui either.
