Something not talked about.

Aug 31, 2021, 8:25 PM

Much has been said about the O line. We all wait to see if it has improved. After watching the Ohio State game a few times I'm hoping our back 7 has improved. Yes the corners were in great position many times and gave up big plays on perfect passes. That is going to happen to even the best. The big concern is the tackling by the back 7. Over and over contact would be made and the RB would get a extra 3-6 yards. It would be 3rd and 2 instead of 3rd and 7. If this doesn't improve it will be a long night. The front 4 can make the back 7 look awesome, hope that's the case Saturday. Go Tigers

I can't disagree!

The Tigers will have to hear about that Ohio State game until they prove they can "regain a sense of physical"!
Ohio State just "bodied us"! Period! End of Story! No Mo! The End!

They were more physical and willing to be under that: "good football violence" which was needed to win the game. They had it - we didn't!

In this game - I concur - if the Tigers show up trying to finesse Georgia we will have a long day! Arm tackles and half-hearted non-violent blocks just won't cut it.
Blocking like your hair is on fire is the only way. Tackling and breaking down and squaring up like you need it to breathe will have to be the mood of the day.

Sometimes in football - aggression can cover up "non-perfect execution"!
We have to play with more aggression or at least equal!
I agree.

Yes, with #47 out of the game, it was embarrassing. #6, #18, and #31 do not hit, cover or tackle. It really stood out in the Ohio State game.

I'm Going to Take Last Season and that Ohio State Game

as an anomaly due to weird season etc. If we don't play like big boys I will worry. BV had to be a real joy all off-season so I imagine the team will do well Saturday.

Exactly my thoughts!
Nothing this coaching staff has done indicates they are the types not to address what was clear and apparent last year! We were not physical enough as a team!

My big thing is to see a version of the Tigers in which they not only are okay with getting punched in the mouth but: "they punch you back in the mouth and actually want a bloody nose"!

Sounds gross - but if you aren't the Predator on the attack - "you end up prey"!

Looking forward to seeing a much more physical Clemson team on Saturday than the last outing!

Nolan Turner also missed first half from targeting late in ACCCG. Not saying it would have made much of a difference but he had plenty of experience.

D Kendrick

Don’t forget Kendrick was in the back 7 and was undoubtedly the worst tackler in the secondary.
