Oregon to the bottom of the sea…..now that seems ok.

Beautiful country in Oregon.

Coastal mtns, Cascades, high country of eastern Oregon, Columbia River Gorge, amazing coastline, etc.

You folks should get out more.

So where does that leave Clemson?

Jun 30, 2022, 1:37 PM

Things are changing rapidly. I hope Neff and the administration are taking appropriate measures to ensure we are in solid ground.

We all knew this was coming. I still believe the SEC will add more teams as well to ensure their future. I hope we’re having conversations with both conferences behind doors. (PS I’m sure we are)

Yes. The SEC is on shaky ground.

null

By that I meant the most powerful conference.

Jun 30, 2022, 2:19 PM

Other conferences are reacting to the Texas OU move. First it was the alliance (that was bs). That’s why your seeing the Big 10 expand. To add revenue and I believe the SEC isn’t finished.

If you read my whole post you would clearly see that I believe the ACC / Pac 12 / Big 12 and other conferences are at a huge disadvantage. (With money and resources). The rich are getting richer.

Clemson will not be left out. Neither will Florida St and Miami. So thankfully we don’t need to “panic” like other schools. We’ll be at the table. However, I would prefer to take proactive measures behind curtains to make sure we’re set up going forward rather than wait and watch dominoes fall and then react.

Again, I believe we are. College Football is changing rapidly. By 2025/2030 things are going to be wayyyy different.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Stunning because.....

Jun 30, 2022, 1:52 PM

There really isn't a Pac-12 without those two schools. They are the PAC-12...LA-based, etc....

Its the B1G and the SEC gunning to be top-dog. Will be interesting to see where we end up. I think Dabo is 100% correct where this is all headed...eventually....

I was thinking about the travel costs … but with the increased revenue…I guess that isn’t a consideration. For the student athletes though…especially those with many games like basketball, that is a lot of road time.

Re: Report: Pac-12 in trouble

Jun 30, 2022, 2:12 PM

That's not a problem. The B10 recent additions Maryland and Rutgers suck in football too.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Makes no sense unless its for the money

Jun 30, 2022, 2:06 PM

At some point the more schools you have in your conference the less chance you have of making it to the conference championship game and onto the college playoffs.

How about a merger between the remnants of the PAC and the Big 12? The Big 12 might regret wasting slots on Group of 5 schools they are adding.

that said, looking more and more like we are on the doorstep of super conferences breaking away from the NCAA. Question is if we will be a part of it. Acc isnt bringing a lot to the table these days.

Saw at least one report say that UCLA/USC came to the Big Ten first, so seems like a bed made by the PAC-12 underperforming related to other P5s in revenue. P12’s last deal was split between ESPN and FOX.

Maybe the ACC should go after Oklahoma and NDame if not get out of the way and let Fla State and Clemson go to the SEC

Re: Report: Pac-12 in trouble

Jun 30, 2022, 3:43 PM

Has anybody considered what this means for the Rose Bowl? They have been a fairly strong roadblock to the CFP getting everything they wanted but having all of the BIG plus Southern Cal and UCLA all in one conference takes some of the luster off of the Granddaddy of them all. I expect they are involved and may dissolve their double conference tie in for years they aren’t in the CFP.
