I don't even see Texas and Oklahoma getting excited. Like I see a lot more people mad that the Bug 12 is falling apart. I know A&M, Arkansas, Missouri and LSU can't be happy.

Kansas State, Baylor, TCU, Ok State and Tx Tech have to be panicking.

behind Bama as long as Saban is there is better than being the best 2 teams in a solid conference with almost a sure bid to the Playoff. Even with a 12 team format, one of the 2 teams will be looking at 2 losses a year minimum- maybe both - and miss the playoff.

At a base level, I’m excited to see OK versus some of the traditional SEC teams the way you get excited about a cool bowl matchup.

I hate what it means for the rest of the Big 12. Those matchups and rivalries all made sense for the most part. Now they go to the PAC or BIG? None of those teams make sense in either conference. WV makes some sense in the ACC, but that’s about it. When the Big East collapsed, at least their were some conferences that made sense. I think those schools and the Big 12 are done as far as being relevant on the P5 (P4?) level.

I’m also a little worried what this means for the ACC and BIG, and more importantly Clemson recruiting. We could handle being the big dog in a weak ACC because you could always point to OSU and OK being much the same in their conferences. I think this furthers the SEC superiority mindset in the impressionable that we might not be able to out recruit now. Hope I’m wrong and it’s business as usual.
