Some of you are completely clueless on the women's Olympic soccer team

The lie that they took a knee for the national anthem has permeated it's way into some of your circles, and I think the record needs to be set straight.
Both teams did take a knee on the pitch before the opening whistle as has every soccer team (both club and country) on the planet has done for over a year now as a form of protest against racism around the world. To single out the USWNT for this act is complete ignorance.
Like some of you, I don't agree with how some players like Megan Rapinoe have politicized the sport. But for every Megan Rapinoe on the team, there is a Julie Ertz, who proudly sings our National Anthem. The whole team is not Megan Rapinoe, and they don't share her views. He!!, I'd venture to say her own wife doesn't share her views b/c Sue Byrd carried the American flag at the opening ceremonies. I'm guessing if Megan Rapinoe was so anti-American, there would be a divorce coming.
All this nonsense about pulling against the US teams needs to stop. Opinions of a few don't speak for everyone on the team, and honestly, there has been nothing at this Olympics that should be considered disrespectful to America. If there was, I'd be the first to bash them.

Those individuals represent our country and some of them are poisoning the well. They can believe whatever they want, but they aren’t there as individuals. They’ve made the decision to turn something about unity and pride into a joke that they don’t realize makes them look just as stupid as the rest of the country they represent. Unfortunately because the actions by that purple haired woman I can only hope the woman’s kickball team gets destroyed in this tournament. After she is gone I will gladly cheer for their team. I will never again cheer for the men’s basketball. Go team USA in golf.

If that is true, then the other team members should demand that she be removed from the team. If you can't respect the country that you are playing for and picking up all the bills, then move on. I'm sure some activist group will be glad to have you. Consider moving to a another country.

I 100% agree with your statement. They are getting paid to play for the USA, if they don’t love and respect our country then go live somewhere else and get a job playing for them. The coach should be allowed to send them out right then and there. they should not be allowed to represent this country in any way what so ever

There was a flag on the video board or something and there was confusion as to which one to look toward. Several players said as much on Twitter.
They weren’t “snubbing” the veteran as so many desperately wanted them to be doing so they could continue their vitriol toward the team

Your debunked is debunked.
Not so, the Flag was to the right of the players in the end zone (left from the camera angle), they chose not to turn and face the flag. No they did not "turn their backs", they did not face the flag and remained standing with their hands behind their backs, just as you see it. They all did the same exact thing, randomly...
This is not their first rodeo, these women made a choice to not turn.

The US and Mexican flags were both on flag polls at the end of the stadium they were facing.
Also, you don't turn your back to the flag and hold your hand over your heart at the same time. Some faced forward towards the harmonica-playing vet, and others faced the flag.

They were looking at different flags being displayed. You know this right? Are you trolling? They all praised the singer afterwards.
The anti-American sentiment here for some of our Olympic teams is not cool. Sorry. It just isn't. We all have our differences but not pulling for the red white and blue against others at the games is lo lo. Give the outrage some time off.

Perhaps you should go back and watch previous disrespectful acts... you sound like nothing more than an apologist for these disgruntled spoiled athletes... you are correct in this case but they have been disrespectful, the send off game is an example. Several players refused to face the flag... and it was during the anthem.
Not a single one of these women can articulate what it is they are taking a knee for, following the fraud Kaepernick's lead... just do it.
I don't think anyone is pulling against, just no one is pulling for either...
I also believe we would universally prefer to put players on the pitch that actually want to wear the USA uniform to represent the USA and not their personal opinions...
Same as Clemson players taking a knee during the alma matter to protest Clemson while wearing a Clemson uniform.
In the end this is all entertainment, and ratings pay the bills. This may be the least watched Olympics ever and NBC is going to take a bath...
Jesse Owens is a far better example of character than any of these players.

When the Star Spangled Banner plays of you are an American you stand up put your hand over your heart or salute if your Military and sing a long! Bunch of spoiled rotten brats that do not even understand how blessed they are to live here in the USA or the sacrifices that were made for them.

later take a knee as a show of equality, then that's fine. Can't find issue with that. I do find issue with the blm team USA uniforms as well as the rainbow numbers on the USA uniforms. Both have occurred prior to the olympics. Have not seen them in Japan. The team USA uniform should reflect the country, not political crap that only applies to a portion of the country.

You are right and you are wrong. You are right that both teams took a knee before the start of the game but the US team minus 3 individuals also took a knee during the national anthem. So being a veteran and a naturalized citizen I take offense to that. The Olympics where you are representing your country is not the place for that foolishness. So they can go suck it.

I’m pulling against any team or individual competitor that kneels before the flag or anthem period. You don’t like this country then go to another one and find out how good you have it in the United States. I haven’t watched or listened to a single bit of Olympic coverage and I typically do every time it comes around
