That was the downfall. Everyone can talk about the OC, but this defense is what we were on.

This is not an aggressive d, at all. Massive fails at the worst possible time virtually every single game. Not good at tackling. Lb's are lost. Just wait till that d isnt littered with elite talent. Imagine wes coaching a defense that isnt vastly superior talent wise to virtually every team we play. Scary.

Here's what I finally realized about our D today - we don't have a leader or identity. We used to have that guy - CW, Boulware, Skalski. We don't have any of them, they don't look like they're enjoying it and it's just a balance brand of defense. We're not bad, but we also don't have that pop, that swagger that we used to

They play awesome for most plays, but the plays where we have nobody within 10 yards and results in a score is what I don't understand. There is a lot of those, obviously.

The Pick 6 is 100% on the Offense. Allowing a 50 plus yard run right after the turnover FOR THE SECOND WEEK IN A ROW is fatally on Wes’s group. Both those mes inthe 1st Qtr so I don’t wanna hear that o the field too much garbage. The garbage coaching hires are on both sides of the all and Wes is one of the IMO

I'm skeptical of Austin and I'm skeptical of Grisham. Neither have elite experience and our groups aren't getting better.
I think we let Robbie stay on too long and missed a major recruiting class or two as a result. Thomas would be a plug and play instead of a wait and see.
I think many also took Jeff Scott for granted in the WR room. These were the first changes made on the coaching staff and these two groups are what I would consider underperforming.

I think the offense problem boils down to Klubnik. His decisions are not good. He doesn’t see wide open receivers. He’s not what you need and after this many games. Don’t see him greatly improving

Worst QB since Cullen Harper. Has the mentality of a HS freshman, can't read the field, after almost 2 years continually runs away from the line of scrimmage and throws up wounded ducks, can't run the RPO and the best was faking to Ship and trying to outrun the Miami D to the endzone. I've seen enough of this kid.

I think that it is more that he doesn't want to throw it unless they are wide open. He almost never throws in rhythm. He holds the ball too long and as another poster points out runs away from the LOS instead of stepping up. The o line is bad, but Cade doesn't do them any favors.

We held NC state to its worst average yards per play in 10 years. None of this is on wes. And BTW, Venables lost to Kansas today......how's that aggressive defense working for him. Being g aggressive all the time will lead to busted coverages and missed assignments. There's a time and place for it, but it's not all the time.

We are not losing because the defense.
We are losing because we have a horrible quarterback, mediocre offensive line and an inconsistent kicker.
Receivers, running backs and the entire defense are all above average. These guys are not causing us to lose games. We could easily be undefeated with those guys, but not with Klubnik.
Last week and this week the receivers caught quite a few really poorly thrown passes. They are playing well.
Klubnik has no clue how to manage himself in the pocket. No instinct. No intuition. I dont know if it’s gonna improve. I just don’t think he has the intangibles. I would like him to be our second string quarterback, unfortunately the cupboard is bare behind him for the rest of this season. Hopefully we go to the portal for a QB.
