Softball. 3 SEC teams lose at home in super regionals

#6 Arkansas got killed by Arizona #7 LSU swept by Florida State #8 Missouri lose to James Madison
All the talk of having 5 SEC teams in the WCWS will end up only being 2 and that’s thanks to having two all SEC super regionals.

Didn't #4 Florida also lose at home, albeit to UGA?

So, the SEC had 5 of the top eight seeds, and the only one to advance was Bama, who got to play another SEC team in KY. Can we say OVERATED!!

I think you mean the James Madison Dukes.
They won the Knoxville regional where they, UT and Liberty all were ranked, and then beat Mizzou in 3 games.
Duke University lost to UGA in the Athens regional. I hope we beat them to the WCWS.

Really think us being new program really hurt us

W/ the record, RPI, & being a regualr season champ in our league...any of the established programs had that, there wouldn't be an issue.
Throw in that a) McWhorter Stadium is a beautiful brand new facility & b) Clemson's track record as a regional/super regional host institution for baseball (meaning our school has history handling those type of responsibilities), I don't aee why the softball committee didn't jump on that opportunity other than its our 1st full season.
Now that couple weeks have past, I'm more ticked about getting such a ****** draw if they weren't gonna make us a host

Yep. The all mighty sec. Tennessee the #8 seed didn't even make it to the super regional after going 1-2 at their home regional. Sec seeds 4, 6, 7, 8, and 9 are gone. LOL.

Because if it’s not UGA you want it to be Big Brother Bama because SEC.
Can you imagine how bored the PAC-12 must be winning all those natty’s? If you are a conference fan, and it looks like you are, the PAC-12 has won over 529 NCAA championships - 238 more than the next closest conference, the SEC. Nah, just kidding. Second place is the B1G. Stanford, UCLA, and USC all have over 100 each. Ho hum.
For some reason ESPN acts like the SEC is God’s gift to sports and has deluded all the drooling, mouth-breathing goobers into believing it. Why would that be? Maybe their multi-billion $$$ investment in the SEC?

To catch up and learn the competition
Who is the all American pitcher for SEC?
Alabama pitcher Montana Fouts is probably the most dominant SEC pitcher. She set SEC tourney record for strikeouts this year. This is not Bama’s best team compared to others in my opinion but they seem to do a good job of taking what they have and making it work. I’d say the best pitcher nationally is Rachel Garcia at UCLA. Their #2 is probably a top10 pitcher nationally. UCLA vs Oklahoma should be entertaining. OK has hit about 130 HR’s this season and have 3 or 4 kids hitting above or at .400.

If you followed the season. Oklahoma was ranked #1 all season but their RPI was like 19 or 20 until they played Texas and Oklahoma State. Yes they have hitters but their competition was very weak for the majority of the season. As far as Clemson they ended up with an RPI of about 19. There’s no way a top 20 team should have been playing a #3 team. Clemson should have hosted but if not they should have at least played someone between 13 to 16. Which would have been a lot better chance of making it into the super regionals. Heck change Clemson and VT and Clemson may have needed up In Oklahoma City. My real complaint isithink Bama takes it all and the NCAA didn’t want a first year program making past the regionals.

VA Tech took #2 ucla to third game and just ran out of gas with pitching.
Said all along its Bama/Oklahoma but proud James Madison got in. FSU could make some noise but... Don't see it. Was a little shocked Kentucky got 3 runs off Bama ace.

each other in that first game! My SEC anger exploded when our softball team was disrespected! Considering their record, the Tigers should have hosted.

Clemson got screwed bigtime! Were basically seeded 30th,

and were seeded lower than any of the other four ACC teams who made the tourney. Even if not hosting, they should have played a 14-16 seed, like maybe Kentucky!

when they faced Alabama. In both games I was wanting Clemson to make some noise against Alabama.
Might come down to Alabama and Oklahoma. Hate both those teams.

I don’t think Bama can beat UCLA. UCLA made 5 errors in the game against Va Tech that they lost - totally uncharacteristic of them. Also, their second best player just started playing a little against VT after early season injury. I dont think anyone can score with OK but I’d take UCLA and Arizona as the two with the best shot.
On a different note, Clemson definitely deserved a better seed. We should have been sent to Tennessee or Missouri and possibly could have won one of those. Being honest, we aren’t at the level of Bama, UCLA, FL (I know they lost), etc - yet. We are/were legit top 15. Gotta get better production from bottom of line up and need to get more speed in the outfield.
