Is there a chance that DW

Dec 19, 2016, 9:28 PM

returns? Not that I think he should, but, I just get a vibe he's actually thinking about it.

Like today during that interview, the guy asked him the question sort of in jest, but DW took it seriously and said "I don't know, I think about it". And then the guy had to tell him he was just joking.

No chance unless he REALLY wants that Heisman.

If he doesn't win the Championship, then I'd give it at least a 1% chance.

He is big on mastering this level of play. Though I would say he already has, that is a subjective opinion. A national championship solidifies that he is the best in the country at this level of play and is ready for the next level.
Especially with the team we have. If he can't fully get to the promise land on this level, is it best to take that next step? Only Deshaun knows

Yes, I think he appreciates how special Clemson is and he wants to enjoy it for one more year before playing for Cleveland.

Well - he definitely knows that we are in dire need of a QB to step up if he goes to the NFL. But as much as I would love to see that happen, he really needs to go ahead to the NFL. He has accomplished plenty to make the big bucks.

There is a chance if two things happen

Dec 20, 2016, 12:14 AM

First, Clemson doesn't win the NCG. Second, his draft report comes back and he is predicted in the second round. If this occurs, and it is possible both occur, I believe there is a legitimate chance Deshaun comes back and absolutely runs over people next year like Denzel in Man on Fire.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Deshaun is a thoughtful and intelligent young man,

Dec 20, 2016, 1:10 AM

in addition to being an on-field athletic monster. If he is a likely Cleveland Browns pick, then he might be better off sticking around another year.

That aside, I don't know that he's in that big of a rush like some others that turn pro early. There's no dire need, and you could almost envision him being a part-time coach for the bevy of QB's rising up in the wings next season. This staff is capable of running an offense with multiple capable QB's considering all of the athletes we're stocking up in the skill and TE positions, with an A-team of DW4 and company at the helm.

A two-time Heisman finalist wouldn't make for a bad coach for Cooper, Israel, Johnson and Brice on the field, on the sidelines, and in the film room. We are almost in a position to run a hockey style offense with waves of fresh deadly. It's getting that skrong and deep.

I would put the odds around 2.3% of him sticking around, but wouldn't be shocked.

2 things

1- is it turning pro early when he has alr3ady graduated?

2- why would you have any reason to believe that cleveland doesnt have the first pick for the next 5 years at least?

I've wondered this myself. He hasn't come out and said he's leaving, but it's like everyone else already has his bags packed for him. He could easily get a 2nd round grade and decide to come back. The one that really has me puzzled is Scott. No way he goes eariler than the 3rd round, but everything he's said points to him leaving.

badge-donor-10yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Scott has likely hit his draft ceiling. Coming back next

Dec 20, 2016, 8:53 AM

year isn't going to turn him into a 1st or 2nd round pick.

Re: Is there a chance that DW

I've been pushing this envelope for a while. Not that he should return, but with the kind of young man Deshaun is, win or lose the national championship, I would not be shocked either way (leaves, returns). It's all dependent upon his draft grade he gets. Deshaun believes he is a top 5 pick and at the least a first round pick. If his draft grade comes back the way Todd McShay and Mel Kiper are saying then he will receive a 2nd round grade which in my opinion would drive him to return and further in perfecting his craft.

So you're saying there's a chance******
