So.. when SPUR "does" retire, which HC will SC hire..and

Oct 5, 2014, 9:39 PM

Will he be a Tiger Killer tOO?! Remember they've hired some big time coaches ( 3 NC HC's) as well as some nice guy ones like our Dabo, West, Red Parker, etc (like: Morrison & Sparky).

And, is it possible they hire a huge name from SECor PAC12? What say You?

GoTiGERS!

I'm just glad Charlie Strong is already tied up. That was one that worried me.

They should advertise on LinkedIn , that service stays connected with the interested parties.
I am sure that even a dumpster-fire program like USUCK can find someone willing to give it the Ol' Second Choice College try ?
Also , with all the SEC Notwork money raining down , they could possibly convince that hire to stay even after he/she became aware of the curse.

Bill Snyder and no.

If the recent track record is any indication, the new SC head football coach must be eligible for Medicare.

soon enough. He can't hang around until a sane person wants him gone though.

Jim Tressel, Lloyd Carr, Pat Dye, Phil Fulmer, Dean Smith (I know he is not football, but he is old), Lee Corso, or the actor who played Blue in "Old School".

One can dream right? He'd take them right back to the cellar.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Who cares??

Oct 5, 2014, 10:23 PM

At this point it seems like we Clemson fans have a lot more interesting things to discuss than the ol' ball sac's eventual replacement.

The only thing I care about them at this point is beating their a$$es in November. Until then, screw 'em.

There's only one man for the job...

Oct 5, 2014, 10:36 PM

And luckily for him, he's still got some usc clothes in the closet (although of a different variety).

Lane Kiffen. I can see him grabbing the reigns of that burn barrel in 2015.

Re: There's only one man for the job...

Maybe Monte Kiffin? He better fits the profile.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I can see them going for Kiffen just because they want a big

Oct 5, 2014, 10:54 PM [ in reply to There's only one man for the job... ]

name, never mind his record or reputation. Replacement would have to be available at the time too. Any super big name would be too much for them to afford. They also better hope that few or no other big programs are doing a search at the same time.

Kiffin may have burnt that bridge when he was at Tenn and he talked smack about Sakerlina to recruits. Bill Snyder? He fits the look, and age.

Bill Snyder has too much class

My honest guess is grad, D'Antonio. If he's willing to leave MSU for the SEC, that'd be the big hire they're looking for. Don't see SoCar as an upgrade but the SEC brings them in...

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

biggest name available.. they have the money.. character

does NOT matter. Also might I add that I dont care who they hire as long as it is not Brent Venables, or Coach Morris.

What about Mac Brown? He fits their "mold" perfectly and available unless SMU takes him first. Whoever said Lane Kiffin (sp?) might be on to something. The bigger question for me is who do we get if and when Dabo gets fed up with all of the stuff he hears like Boo-ing of Players deemed unwanted by some fans, an empty stadium in second half, the constant drumbeat of " fire Dabo, Chad, Brent, Batson?" I am just wondering.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They'll make a run at someone like Gary Patterson....

Oct 6, 2014, 7:53 AM

which would be a good hire for them IMO.

He is currently under contract with TCU through the 2018 season and makes sroughly $3 million annually, so if they wanted someonme like that, they'd have to get out their check book and sharpen their pencil.

There's no chance Gary Patterson will leave Ft. Worth.
That program is his baby, and that town is his wife's.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Big name ? No one will take it.

Oct 6, 2014, 8:42 AM

USuC is no better than Kentucky or Vandy. A place where legends go to kill their careers. If they got lucky and hired an up and comer, he'd be gone to the first big school that'd hire him.

Slurrier has done very well there, that crap hole is still not a destination for proven head coaches.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Petrino

Oct 6, 2014, 9:12 AM

After Louisville gets curb stomped next week, he quits. Spurrier retires after 5-7 this year and enter Bobby P. He will implode, if he cant handle Fayetteville, AR then imagine what happens the first time he hits five points.
