The worst thing that happen tonight is we lost a close game to a top 5 program by 7 points.
Sure, it stinks but all of this wanting to fire Elliot and whoever else is just plain stupid.
We lost two of the greatest offensive weapons at QB and RB in Clemson history. We've gotten really spoiled with QB's like Boyd, Watson and Lawrence.
I've been around long enough to see Clemson when they were horrible...I'm talking Red Parker era Horrible.
Sometimes it's okay to blame the players more than the coaches.
DJ didn't have the burden of carrying the team last year and when he played last year. Now, all eyes are on him with the pre-season hype, NIL endorsement and he buckled under the pressure.
The scrutiny now falls on the coaches on how to fix the problems...
We as a fan base needs to step away from the edge and take a deep breath and lighten up.

Negative. The coaches and players are paid employees now. No one is paying IPTAY dollars for a “learning experience”. The whole world knows the O line was a problem for years now, Dabo needs to fix it! Fire some people, hire some people, open the portal. Idgaf, but fix it.

I don't have an issue with Streeter, as he's shown he's okay at developing QBs (though I feel like Trevor got progressively worse at passing, even as he improved in experience and mobility), and phenomenal at recruiting them. I also don't have an issue with DJ. He was bad, but he was getting destroyed all night and didn't have a chance to do what he does best, vertical passes, because of play calling. I'll never understand the lunatics that think Hunter Helms is this amazing QB.
Dabo needs to fire Elliott and Caldwell, and maybe bench Putnam and/or Bockhorst.

Just kidding. Reality is that we are truly spoiled, BUT that is what also gives we fans the right to #####/complain/whine when this team pulls a stinker on the field. That offensive showing was brutal and a terrible look for Clemson. LSU/OSWho/UGA all destroyed the Tiger offensive line. The trench is where games are won/lost. Defensively this team is excellent. Offensively, it’s going to be a struggle against teams with a pulse on D.
Coaches are indeed the biggest reason for tonight’s loss. They did nothing to change the gameplan snd just kept doing the same crap with the same guys…. that defines insanity! Lots of improvement needed and it starts with Dabo and trickles down through every single offensive player.
Win as team lose as team, tonight makes that hard to always agree with considering it’s 3-3 without the pick 6 the offense gives up

At least complain about the right stuff. That's what gets me. Want to fire a guy that's taken us to 6 CFP games, won 2 Natty's and because we lose a close game to a top 5 team by 7 points the best thing is to fire him?

Elliott is bad. Always has been bad. He's either had Scott to help him or Travis and Trevor to perform for him his entire career at CU. A bumbling fool could call plays for the offenses we have had recently and he even screwed that up last year. To me this isn't about a 10-3 loss to Jawja but the culmination of what's been happening for quite some time. That was a "deer in the head lights look" game last night.

same, slow developing run plays. Same WR screens. I saw exactly one new wrinkle tonight and it was really just a slight variation on something we've seen before.
Elliott is not good.
The OL has been a constant problem for years. Recruiting has gotten better and they still look overmatched whenever we play top end teams.
Caldwell is not good.
They won't be fired this week, probably not this year. That doesn't mean fans should ignore what's in front of their faces.

I would agree with you if the problem was just tonight's game. But it is not. There has been a long, slow decline in the Tiger offense, Trevor Lawrence and ETN notwithstanding, since 2016 in my view. Many of the more concrete criticisms are accurate but there is something else, call it MOJO or consistent explosiveness for lack of a better description, missing for some time on offense.

I thought I’d take a look at these boards for this type of feedback. I was at the game last night with my wife, who happens to be a CU grad. I was enjoying the last two minutes of the game when a drunk POS CU student decided to peg me in the back of the head with a mostly full can of beer. This was unprovoked…hadn’t even talked to the little weasel in the second half. I can handle myself and this kid was maybe a buck forty soaking wet (and all mouth). No security was immediately available; my wife and a probable trip to jail kept me from taking this kid apart. Told his friends to get him out of there before I changed my mind, which they did. An assault charge would have put a nice dent in his future. On the plus-side I had a handful of CU fans apologize for this @#&%.
I have attended my fair share of games in Clemson and Athens, so I have seen poor behavior in both. This ranks right up there. So let's be clear - it cuts both ways.

Did they "bark" at you too? Not saying your wife is lying but if my wife is spit upon she isn't waiting until we're half way to the car to mention it. Apologizes if it's true....no need for that. I feel most regardless of the fanbase wouldn't stand for that and would come to your wife's rescue.

And you better believe that fan base in Tuscaloosa will be calling for the OCs head. It's comes with the territory. That being said, I'd never fire a coach over one game. Now we definitely took a step back from 2019 to 2020. And I knew we would take another step back after losing all out key offensive players.
BUT THREE POINTS????
$10 says the Gamecocks score more than that on them in a couple of weeks.

Today's game was prob the worst effort I've seen in at least a decade.
Nothing about being a terrible fan. I'm ok to lose when we play well and leave it all out on the field but today was just awful.
Dabo needs to get over the transfer portal phobia and get some O Line and D Line guys in. Do we even have any running backs? DJ looked very average today.

The offensive side of the team does not match the level of play as the defensive side. First of all, Georgia tried every scheme in the book to stop Brent’s defensive attack and it did not work. The Tiger D faced the top offensive line in the country and met the challenge. On the flip side, the Tiger O looked unprepared. Elliott, Caldwell, Streeter, and Uiagalelei all need a good butt chewing. Dabo has never hesitated to fire/bench under achievers. CDS has some work to do with this team.

Their butts handed to them, so I see a bit of a pattern.
DJ was bad.. Elliot is “meh” at best with the play calling. Easy to call game with our talent against the conference but step outside with elite teams and the results since Scott left haven’t been so great.
Defense was great.

And am definitely not saying we can't criticize. Just saying there is a small, but vocal contingency that has an absolute meltdown. I'm talking about the people who say DJ can't cut it, TE needs to be fired, etc.

Wanting to fire Elliott is not a meltdown. If you knew football, you'd see the slow decline of Clemson's offense over the last 5 years. He has choked in 4 of the last 5 big games Clemson's had, despite having tons of NFL talent on the roster. This is not a one-off thing (it is with DJ, which is why it's stupid that people are mad at a kid in his third game against maybe the best defense in football who was getting hit hard all night making some poor decisions). At the same time, we see other coaches bringing in offensive coordinators who use creative playcalling and vertical passing (like the NFL does, since it's a passing league) who looks leagues ahead of Clemson. We're stuck with RPOs, screens, and draws.

We played a top five defense last night that exposed some weaknesses for us. It is clear where we need to improve; OL line play, the need for play-action, routes taking too long to develop, RB pass protection, QB needing to run the ball also, etc. Is coaching part of that mix, heck yeah. Does TE need to be fired after the first game of the season? Nope.

When you suck at your job your boss tells you. This is no different other than we aren't anyone's boss, only making note of the obvious. Literally anyone could be our OC and win 8-9 games a season with the talent we have. Wanting someone who can win against similarly talented teams doesn't make anyone a terrible fan.

We've all been duped, and no one likes to be duped. All the hype the media and the coaches put into this team with the supposed best in the nation players, and they can't produce a single TD, they allow a zillion QB sacks, etc. No one likes to be duped.
