They seem to disappear at the first snowfall, and re-emerge in the spring at the first rumble of thunder.

They say yeah it snowed in SC this week but you just wait 6 months and see if we don’t get heat.

All time record heat down there. They don't hibernate, they migrate south for the winter, like snowbirds kinda.
