Work cancelled because it's too cold to go outside today

Jan 6, 2014, 1:40 PM

from my experience of working in Pennsylvania in the winter the best thing to do is fill up the gas tank and just head back south. You don't get warm when you work outside in it for 12+ hours. It was miserable, and even when i was back in the hotel I was cold to the bone for hours...it drops snow up there in the winter like we get a thunderstorm in the summer.

Layers.. lots of them

Really isn't as bad as it sounds. Spent most of my life in GA and SC, and I handle it ok.

I just got a call from my sanitation company that because it's too cold they will have to wait until next week to pick up my garbage.

Is it supposed to be warmer next week?

I think it's call winter.

Oh well, maybe global warming will get us next week.

High of 9, low of -11. So I'll probably still have to work.

My water is frozen.

Jan 6, 2014, 5:27 PM

THE GOOD

I stored 20 gallons of water in case my lines froze.

I took a shower last night.

THE BAD

I'm snowed in and missed a cardio appointment today.

The maroon (don't ask) who built the box around the well head forgot to put a bulb in the outlet I (the idiot) had installed and I had to explore the situation to find the problem. The windchill was somewhere close to 15 below here on the mountain.

THE UGLY

We're expecting temps of 4 or 5 degrees tonight and mid to low 20s tomorrow.

It will be Wed before I can get another shower.

THE RESOLUTION

I don't care.
