Serious question about Basketball and Brownell..

Does anyone know what his stated goals are? What about the goals of the program from the AD? Is winning championships part of it? I know Dabos. They are on the wall in the stadium:

1) win the opener 2) with the state championship 3) win the atlantic 4) with the conference 5) with the last game

How do we measure success in the basketball program?

1) do well enough every few years to keep job and get extension
2) get occasional raise
3) win no tournaments and accomplish nothing

those have been our goals for most of 100 years. A few of the years the HC had the goal to win enough games to get a job offer from a better program

I have asked this question before as well, and gotten no real answers yet. As stated, setting goals gives motivation to accomplish them. Something tangible to work towards. Stepping stones to a bigger achievement.

The only thing I’ve ever heard Brad Brownell and all of his trolls talk about is making the tournament. Ok great! That’s a good goal, but there is so much else in front of you to define. Win your OOC schedule. Win the ACCT. etc….

I’m sure there’s focus on these things ofcourse, that’s the name of the game is to win. But are they stated goals? Placed visually and emphasized?

Don’t assume that they don’t exist just because they aren’t plastered on a wall or repeated as a catchphrase for fans to hear about.

Exactly, another expert answer without an answer.

That’s all I ever get. Yes the team has goals.

And plastering them on the walls gives people something to look at as a reminder to remain focused on one goal at a time. Like win the ACCT instead of worrying about the ncaat. This is a normal practice for people in life. Post your goals in a physical and visible location to stay focused.
