What’s your favorite memory vs Wake Forest?

My favorite highlight was the fg block returned for a td by Gains Adams.
My favorite Clemson vs wf game was when we played in Tokyo Japan.

1981. Clemson scored so many points that the Demon Deacon had to come over and help the Tiger finish his push ups.

Going to see DW4 destroy them in 2016. It was, by far, the coldest I have even been at a football game. I woke up the next morning, and my feet were still cold.
I definitely agree about Gaines Adam ... that was AWESOME!! It started a huge comeback win.

I agree. Absolutely crazy cold. One of the best parts of the game was when they ran the same TE shovel pass that Pitt had just spanked us with. Somewhat comedic. I think we also ran the same play too.

largely because that was my Freshman year.
The 2006 games where Gaines Adams return the botched field goal attempt for a TD would be a very close second.

I think it was the WF game back in the 80's where Fridge blocked the OL so far back when they were punting, that the ball hit the OL in the a$$ when the punter kicked it. Clemson recovered.

Definitely Gaines Adams fumble return.
Also remember a Nealon Greene short pass to Joe Woods that went 80 yards for a TD on first play of the game, believe the year was 1996.

So my favorite moment is probably from 2018, when we ran for 417 yards and 6 TDs. I mean, who does that??? It proved to me that our offensive linemen were some bullies, marking a change from the earlier Dabo success years when we struggled against physical teams.
Five rushing TDs 52 yards or longer, three 128+ yard rushers with only 10 carries each, 11.8 yards per attempt...it was an absolutely dominant ground performance. And I love nothing more than games where we run all over people.

Earlier that morning, Desmond Howard called our offense a "finesse" style that couldn't be physical. After we ran all over Wake I remember Jeff Scott tweeting back at Desmond about it lmao.

The 1966 game that Clemson won 23-21 when Wilson Childers tackled the WF QB in the Endzone for a safety to win the game. I have never seen anybody else win a game with a safety on the final play. I was in Wilson’s class & that was the only game I missed all year. Was deer hunting with my Dad & listening on my portable radio & let out a huge yell when it happened.

My favorite memory of wake forest is the sheer amount of pain, embarrassment and grief I had on that 2008 Thursday night. I was watching in clemson with all my family (don’t get to go home much) and will never forget that low from our preseason rankings.
Because that game led to where we are right now. I look back at that night of frustration with laughter and smiles.

Was at that game and though we were going to mess around and give it away. That play broke the tie late and seemed to get us going. Won by 14.

Gaines Adams easily

Before this recent run of playoffs and titles, that was one of the most exciting plays in my time watching Clemson football. I'd have it right up there with The Catch II, Woody at GT in 2001 (take your pick of 2 or 3 plays from that game!), converting 1st and 35, etc.
I was only 7 for the Simmons pick-6 at FSU so, sadly, I don't remember that one.

My wife and I attended the 2006 game in Winston Salem. The deacs had totally dominated us until the Gaines Adams take away for a touchdown on their fg attempt. Until then I was so pissed off that I had gotten up to leave before the fg attempt. My wife said we had driven 3 1/2 hours and we were not leaving. When Adams made the play all of the oxygen got sucked from the Wake fans, and everyone in the stadium knew what the outcome would be even though Wake still had a double digit lead. I have never seen such a momentum change before or since.
