I've heard if China invades Taiwan, the sentiment right now would be we'll fight. Leaving aside the fact that it'd be the end of Joe's presidency if he backs down, Taiwan also produces something like 90% of the world's semiconductors. If China just takes them our already-shaky economy is done.

That makes me more than a little nervy.

What should the US and Europe risk? Total world destruction; prolong conventional conflict in locations where we are at significant geographical and logistical disadvantage; complete economic disassociation?

What’s are the winning short term tactics and long term strategies?

I think there is over a 50% chance that China invades Taiwan at one point. I think there is a 1% chance we do anything about it that would equate to WWIII.
