Worse than that he shows up on the sideline during the bowl game, with the self-awareness of Lebron James, for some shameful cam whor!ng-

Well yes. The Bowl game was for the fans and team. The Senior Bowl about him and his draft stock.

If you read comments from scouts they actually don’t care at that point, going back to Christian McCaffery when he sat out the Sun bowl or poinsettia bowl or something like that, by this point they have enough tape and don’t care about a bowl game. Don’t have to like it but it’s a business and facts, many scouts and GMs are on record (even about Pickett) that it makes no difference and they could care less.

Pickett and any other player who quits on their team lacks something that will matter and make a big difference in the long haul no matter what sport they play. It is called heart and character. Just ask Dabo and I am sure he will tell you this is why he has had so much success at Clemson. When you recruit players with heart and character who put their team first before themselves IT MATTERS!

They new he was a "GOLD Brick" at a position of declining value at that point?****

I know you are correct when you say, "scouts already have the video and it doesn't matter at that point in the season"!
Ahh-hhhhaaaa though!

The idea that playing in the bowl game is going to: hurt your draft stock is silly. The idea that you have somehow navigated at least 12 games during the season and that somehow during your finale "you will be hurt" is irrational!

And, many NFL legends played their bowl game and it never hurt them in any way.

The Senior bowl is coached by NFL

Feb 5, 2022, 5:08 PM

coaches. It can make a big difference if you are positioning against others in the draft and it’s not clear cut. Probably the practices more so than the game itself but still.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Practice?.. you talki

Feb 5, 2022, 9:56 PM

The practices are what scouts/evaluators generally reference; not the scripted "empty the bench" game-

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I thought he didn’t play in the bowl game

Feb 6, 2022, 5:54 AM

Because he didn’t want to get hurt so this makes no sense to me! He could get hurt playing in this game too. This game is even closer to draft time. What a jerk and selfish too. Those Pitt fans would have loved getting that bowl victory.
