He has hated on Gruden for years. Gruden even tried to persuade KJ to come out of retirement after their differences.
ESPN and their personalities are the real racists.

Keyshawn does a great job overall though. That's a great show in the mornings. JWill does great as well. Once they get to Stephen A I am done. No need for yelling in the morning.

I'm convinced Zubin couldn't work with those two, because he could barely get a word in edgewise. After Stephen A and Max split, they new he could tolerate the cacophony after tolerating Stephen A so long, so they put him over there.

Yeah Zubin was a bad pick to be in that mix. He supposedly had health issues and that's why he stepped away for a bit, but you noticed they didn't try and bring him back. Was way too soft for that grouping. Max fits in well and it's great that he got away from Stephen A too. He must be loving life.

They're all just noise and yelling over each other. I guess the louder you speak, the better people are supposed to understand. It's rarely conversation. Just yelling opinions in a whiny voice

Max is a good balance. But balance is always found somehow. Zubin really had me digging the show. He was the energy dump. It allowed J Will and Keyshawn to go full energy. Zubin stayed balanced and always kept aim… he was the rhythm.I feel like maybe J Will backs down a little nowadays while Keyshawn bulls through football segments. (And I like Keyshawn.) J Will is just an uncomfortable voice trying to interject without Zubin. I’m not so sure, Zubin wasn’t the one who didn’t request the change. Max can do it too though. He’s been doing it with Stephen A Smith for a couple years now. If we sit back and not complain long enough, balanced sports talk radio will be found!

If you look at ratings, they've consistently gone down over the past ten years, especially in the last three. They've fired much of their previous on-air talent in the past ten months (look up how many lineup changes and cancellations of shows they've had the past five years), and FoxSports original day programming is beating ESPN (many of whom were previously at ESPN). Of course people still watch the sporting events, but that's because it's a game. The numbers and their hatcheting of their staff shows that they're in decline.

Football ratings have actually increased in the past ten years (college having a slightly larger uptick), MLB is relatively flat, and the NBA has cratered to the point where this year's NBA Finals were at the lowest level since the 80s. Networks have gone down some, but that's due to the increase in competition from streaming services.
A lot of people think it's a left/right issue, but really it's just that people watch sports (and for purposes of this conversation) sportstalk to get away from politics not to doubledown on it. I have friends who are R and D and they walked away from a lot of these shows because they don't want it in their sports coverage. I'm neither R nor D but I stopped watching years ago for the same reason. If I want politics or current events, I have a million channels I can watch. I watch sports talk to talk about sports.
