Here is a summary of his opinion:

1) the Newman transfer was expected as he had been passed on the depth chart. Would have preferred he stayed and worked to regain his spot but that is not the way of the portal.
2) The other two hurt but it depends on how well CBB can backfill from the portal. Could be a major impact or a not so much event all based on who we can get to fill those spots.

Some t-net posters with an agenda want to blame CBB for the players transferring but the reality is every team has transfers in and out of their program. The concern is not that players transfer because that is a given. The concern is how well a coach can backfill using the portal.

The new era of roster management. No option to bring HS students on campus for a year now, so scouting available transfers is how things have to work for atleast this year and maybe the case going forward. Let mid major schools develop the 3 or 4 star high school players, then entice them to step up to the ACC conference. One and Dones will still go to the blue bloods so Clemson can’t really waste time going down that road. Brownell doesn’t really play raw young talent because he needs the defensive skills to reach a certain threshold.

In the future (with not having to sit a year), I could see Clemson bringing in more transfers than high school commits each year. Try to keep them for 2 maybe 3 seasons with for a veteran filled roster.
