So Darian Roseboro and Nyheim Hines are now trending to

UNC. Hurts to have to turn away or stop recruiting great players.
Of course if we were going the SEC way, we'd stockpile and run off.

Says something about how well we are recruiting. Seems crazy because of how fast we are trending up but there are just better kids lining up to play at Clemson. We can't take them all and I would much rather have it this way than to have to beg kids to commit.

And if Hines wanted to commit to us, I bet we'd take him. But he also recently visited Duke, so they may have a good shot. Cutcliffe has pulled in some surprises so far in this class. Academics may or may not be an issue in that case.

You hate to lose out on those type of kids but I hope they

go to a school in the other division if they stay in the ACC.
It's not likely we'll see either of them more than once in their 4 years unless it's in the ACCCG.
I think Roseboro is still a take if he wants to commit.
Clemson only has two DL so far this year and nothing is a sure thing on the others left on their board.
They need at last one and hopefully two more DLmen and Roseboro, if he would commit, would be a sure thing.

I know about the DEs, I was just talking about the DTs.
I think the sleeper in that group will be the Ferrell kid.
He committed early and little has been said about him but from the few things I have read he'll be a great player at Clemson.
The one in that group I think might be questionable is the Johnson kid, from some things I've read about him he still has a lot of learning to do and weight to put on.

ok, roseboro is a de, huggins is listed as both, but i think

stays at sde, then there's settle who's a dt.
ferrell is a really nice looking de; really happy to get another virginia commit. a lot of great talent in the state and both vpi & uva are down. hopefully clemson can make some strides in the state with settle & reportedly still in it with deberry, the big lb out of richmond.

I agree and I thought Roseboro was a DT but I think he can grow into a DT if necessary.
Here is a question for you,
Clemson has maybe 3 still open and maybe with the right commit they can still take 4 more. But for the sake of discussion lets say they can only take three.
Lets say Huggins DT, Settle DT, Deberry DE, and Bailey OT all want to commit.
Who are the 1st two from the group you take and then who do you take as an over sign.
I would take Settle and Huggins, Clemson needs to reload on the DTs they have a good OL so far.
then between Bailey OT and DeBerry DE/LB, that is hard since I think Clemson is very think at LB and they lose two 5* Lbers after this year. But our OL needs the talent also. We have never been all that strong on the OL.
My 3rd pick would be Bailey OT/OG. I think there are a lot more LBer than OT than Clemson can get so take those highly rated OLmen when they can get them.

huggins has a spot no matter what... the staff will wait

as long as he does or at least that's the "situation" as i see it.
i believe dt is the only other "need" in the cycle with ray-ray now on board.
so deberry, who i think is a mlb all the way, roseboro, bailey, venzel boulware, campbell[wr] are all gravy at this point.
i probably missed some others cu is still pressing for their services, but if anything, the staff appears to have done a great job targetting & filling the 'must haves' going into '15.

I think Huggins is a take all day long and we'll have to wait until Feb. to see about him. I think he likes the attention of recruiting.
I don't think they have a shot a Campbell and they are filled up there for this year. It's being said they may only take one WR next year, I think they take at least two and they are in on a lot of highly rated WRers from Florida next year. Many are said to be as good or better than the 3 early enrollees this year.
I think Boulware is only a take if they fail on everyone you mentioned.
I think if they can get either Bailey or DeBerry both are needs they take them but I think DeBerry is last take in that group.
You win and lose with DL/OLmen and I think Dabo see's that after playing teams like LSU, TheCoots, Auburn, UGA and OS. All those have great depth on the lines and to compete with them in a playoff system he's has to have quality depth on the lines.

if we have 3 spots left and everyone wants in[and can get in]
1. huggins 2. settle 3. boulware/bailey
up to the staff on boulware/bailey, but boulware is better on film and i think he plays against higher competition. the staff seems to like cross-trainable kids which boulware is compared to bailey. if they are equal in evals by the staff i imagine they'd lean toward the instate kid in bailey. don't get me wrong, i'd love to have either.
deberry, campbell, et al are "out". it's still 7 months to signing day... things change although this year, with 19 possible early entrees at this point, maybe not as much will change as in some other years.

I agree with this. Though if Sweat gets on campus and we can't make the numbers work I would drop #3 in a heartbeat.

I've heard a rumor that Settle may have to go to prep school. If that is true the coaches know that he won't count against this years numbers and could be a take all the way. Bailey is a guard all the way and that isn't a top tier priority like Tackle. I would rather slide one of the tackles we are bringing in inside and go after another big fish on defense.
We are recruiting at an elite level on offense. A few more guys that can dominate from the linebacker position are needed to make our defense as feared as our offense year in and year out.

I have heard that about Settle, I hope not and I hope he can be in orange next year.
Bailey, I think you have to take him for his inside play. It all starts up front and Clemson has never been a school to get those top rated OLmen until this year.
I would love to see Bailey and those other OTs playing together in two more years.
