So, Clemson nation. Question

If you were told the only way to win another national title was to endure another 0-5 streak to the coots, would you take it?

And luckily we won't have to and will still win a Natty
or two.

Looks like nobody wants to play your game

I think the answer depends on your age. If I were younger, then I'd say endure the streak to win another national title. However, at my age, I'd rather go to my grave with 2 national titles than endure another 0-5 streak to those feathered folks from Columbia.

I'm at an age where I didn't know what it was like to lose to them 2 times consecutively...so the 5 streak was pure misery . No , I'd happily take our 2 nationals and go away if we had no other choice than that .

My guess is we win at least one more Natty between now and 2020 when the 18s mature into seasoned players.

I agree. I think another is in our future, and I think it will come sooner, rather than later.

Are you saying that it would be 5 more years before we won another National Title because if we lost to the coots to end the season we would probably drop out of the top 7 and would probably be eliminated any way?

Yes I would take it. All day. Easy decision.
A national title outweighs all

It's been 35 years, and y'all won't sacrifice 5.

LOL trust me when I tell you the 5-peat will never happen again. You're hoping it would trigger another national championship is cootish to say the least.

Nope, not five in a row! Don't want to go thru approximately 2000 days again without beating usuc.

I would choose the 2 Nattys. It isn't bad now living in Ohio, but living in SC during those 5 years and working with so many of those arrogant fools was unbearable. I hate to see them win anything at all, ever!!

We could have five straight 0-5 stretches versus those mouth breathers and we'd STILL lead the series?
Facts.

The championship was BY FAR more exhilarating than the losing streak was painful for me, if that's what your question is getting at, so yes, I'd make that trade over and over IF that was the only way. But I don't live in SC and don't know any coots that I can think of. I'd probly feel different if I lived in SC. Again that's predicated on your scenario of no other way to win another natty.

Better question:

If we lost to The Citadel this year and then lost to them again the next time we played them and didn't win a national title after enduring all of that crap, would a free Hootie concert make up for all the disappointment?
