So by my math, each ACC team has played 8 games on average

Nov 29, 2020, 10:33 AM

in conference this season (which is how many we have played). That means that if we play the VT game, we will be AT the average after next week, and therefore will be within one game of the conference average even if all teams played the following week and we did not.

So, if we play VT, there’s no reason to entertain a rescheduled FSU game.

effSU is praying that the ACC does not force this game to be played. If ever there was a game that Dabo would not call off the dogs, this would be that game. I’d prefer we not play them solely because of the injury risk. Clemson has bigger fish to fry and effSU isn’t worth the bother.

In theory, I believe you are correct. The hole in that plan

is what happens if the ACCCG gets cancelled due to Covid? Will the ACCCG be rescheduled? If not, will that extra game thumping FSU help us get into the CFP sans ACCCG?

Yep, there's still a lot of uncertainty about this season. I feel blessed that we've got to this point. I hope we crown a CFP champ and that hopefully it's us. Unfortunately, it looks ever more likely that COVID is gonna get significantly worse with more hospitalizations and deaths too. I hope we can get this season to the finish line even if zero fans are allowed. It is concerning that the Rose Bowl is one of the playoff sites. I can see the CA governor bagging the game. Hopefully, there are contingency plans. Go Tigers! Beat Va Tech! Beat ND! on to New Orleans or Pasadena and finish it in Miami!

this is what happens if it gets cancled

id assume the team that cant go do to covid would have to forfeit..so if dame had to forfeit we both would be at one loss both to each other...we both would share the acc title.

The ACC has a similar policy to its Power 5 peers in that the conference champion will be the team that finishes the season with the highest winning percentage in conference games. If two (or more) teams have the same winning percentage, they will be declared co-champions.

I want to play Florida Scared University only to punish them

They really aren’t worth it at this point, it makes them look foolish if we don’t play them, plus we healed and will be healthy for the ACC championship.

ND going to beg swoffy to make us play because they have a game to play. They don’t want us either way.

Agree.

We need all the time to heal up we can get. We started earlier than anyone else and are by far the most beat-up team among the contenders.

The last thing we need to do is add another game to the end of the season when we need to be getting guys back healthy, especially when FSU already went and wussed out on us the first time. We showed up. We went there. We were willing to play.

They weren't. We don't need the game. Screw 'em. Axe it and get healthy for the ACCCG.

playing fsu can only hurt us at this point

Nov 29, 2020, 1:12 PM

via a fluke loss and injuries ..there is nothing to gain from playing them

FSU is done for the year ... they just haven't officially
