So, according to some armchair coaches we shouldn't run

Nov 15, 2014, 8:04 PM

our QB's anymore because they might get injured.

This, despite the fact that our offense is based upon the dual-threat QB.

My Gawd, has our fanbase become THAT stoopid?

Morris didn't get DW injured

Nov 15, 2014, 8:06 PM

but our lack of a run game in general is what results in 6 pts.

The picks hurt, but we should be able run the ball with or without DW

Will Feaster be an early enrollee?

Nov 15, 2014, 8:08 PM

Please say yes and that he is headed to Tiger town...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I hope a QB enrolled early...if not

it's just Schuessler in the spring

Bryant looks like a bigger DW...I know his throws aren't

Nov 15, 2014, 8:12 PM

quite up to his level but hopefully the coaches are on him about preparing for early play time. I think he will be a handful for opposing Ds...

I say we cross train like we do on our Oline...

And coach everyone to QB...I think Vic Beastly would throw a pretty mean spiral...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

I believe the situation with this

Nov 15, 2014, 8:07 PM

being his first game back that most fans would have rather he not run so much, use the running backs and pass more then turn him loose in the coot game.

Exactly! If Watson had gotten hurt on a sack people would complain that he wasn't running the ball.

No they wouldn't.

They'd be bitching about the OL or a TE or RB missing a block. But what else is new?

I'm in the camp that thinks Watson should have had very limited runs if any at all. And just because he got hurt without contact doesn't mean it was inevitable for him to tear an ACL. If so maybe we should wheel him around in a wheelchair 24/7. I think that we needed Watson to win out and especially to win game 12. Running him drastically increases the probability of him getting injured. Guess he ended up on the wrong side of the bell curve. Glad we have a great backup in case... Oh wait.

GO TIGERS!!!!!

Jump to conclusions much?

No one has said we should stop running completely. What most of us have said is we shouldn't be running a 195 pound freshman QB as if he's a FB.

I question not protecting a Q.B. who is obviously not 100% durable yet. Watson most likely tore his ACL trying to protect his hand. They said on the broadcast he had been learning "how to fall" to protect his hand. It appeared to me he was trying to roll and fall on his left side and that is what caused him to mess up his knee.
I believe in the dual threat Q.B. I do not believe in running a Q.B. who is hurt any more than absolutely necessary.

Read some dumb things on here tonight but this is near the top... Tore is ACL trying to protect his hand before being hit? OK...

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

OK, here we have the STOOPID post of the night. Lawd...***
