Drove by Willie Brice today

Dec 14, 2015, 11:42 PM

I had the misfortune of driving down Bluff Road by Willie Brice today. Shocked to see huge, and I mean huge, flags of all the SEC schools flying over the entrance to the stadium. I'll admit they did add some color to that hardscrabble, industrial setting, but what does it say to recruits? Here are 13 other schools that you should consider attending before you commit to us? Can you imagine driving by Death Valley and seeing huge flags of all the ACC schools flying on 30-foot tall flag poles surrounding the Hill and Howard's Rock. Not in my lifetime! Clemson fans would revolt if the athletic department was foolish enough to raise a North Carolina or FSU flag, or the flag of any other school for that matter, over Death Valley. Do those folks in Columbia have no shame? Guess not.

Not that I don't believe you but I wish you would have taken a pic, this is unheard of

I can confirm.....

I was at the cockroach for the rivalry game, and saw the flags flying proudly over that dump they call a stadium....

It is kinda sad...... really...

Had to make a stop in Columbia yesterday to pick up a gift on the way back from my mom's. This store has a Clemson and Carolina section. I swear they had a Carolina shirt prominently displayed that said, "Hail to the OBC, Forever to Thee". Needless to say, I laughed my way through the store. Priceless!

I have seen the same shirt somewhere here in Cola. and I commented to my wife how stupidly the chicken fans still worship a washed up coach who quit mid-season on them! A majority of those I've spoken to take a pause when talking about their "retread" Muscrap! They either think he apparently learned something from UF which will transform him and their program overnight or they think Tanner has lost his mind!

Go Tigers!

I went to the dump for the high school championships and felt the same way. They have made some improvements in the last few years but it is just lip stick on a pig.

The entire area outsode of the farmer's market is a dilapidated industrial site .
Plant palm trees in a warehouse trainyard , it is still a warehouse trainyard .
At least they handed out old Outback Bowl t-shirts to the resident vagrants ...put 'em to work selling shaved ice or whatever .

Death Valley on the north side

Visitors used to have the acc school flags. I want to say they were triangle shaped or square but I'm glad they are gone now. It's where the ugly verzion towers are now.

They were triangle pennants

As a child, I thought it was cool we did that. Now, not so much.

That was back when there was only 8 of us.

you must be young because Clemson did it for decades

Dec 15, 2015, 8:28 AM

I don't remember when it changed (or why), but all the ACC flags flew on top of Death Valley for many years. At Beautiful Tiger Field also.

Sometime in the 90's I think. I thought it was a nice touch.

Small flags at the top of the stadium vs huge flags down low

At the Clemson game they had the Kentucky flag upside down on the end of the stadium.
