Bottom line ——

Sep 6, 2021, 9:23 AM

Georgia is a very good football team. Clemson is almost a very good football team. I’m sure that both teams will continue to improve. I wish that my Tigers were playing someone other than SC State this weekend. They really need to be challenged again and the team from Orangeburg will not provide that challenge. SC State will not force the offensive line or quarterback to get better. We really will not know if the team is headed in the right direction until the Tigers play a team capable of beating them. It looks like Georgia Tech will not provide much of a challenge either. Some of the young guys will gain much needed experience but Clemson needs tougher opponents to show that they belong with the big boys.

Slow improvement

I agree that iron sharpens iron, but SC State then GaTech may be just what we need. Gradual improvement and testing before more tough challenges. Lord knows something has to change and improve.

Agreed…the offense needs a week or two to ‘get right’….

There were a ton of mistakes that need to be worked out in a live game…no matter who the opponent. Timing/routes with DJ & receivers is just one aspect…actually handing the ball off a few times…things like that.
Save the ‘get better by playing better teams’ speeches for later. Everyone in college football schedules teams they can walk onto the field and beat…and every conference has teams that go through the doormat years (like GT currently) that appear on the schedule.
We’ll have to deal with not being in the non-sensical CFP discussion for a few weeks in September…not sure why that bothers people so much. Who cares? It’s September. This team might need a little time on the field and less Bo commercials to get in full gear.

2 bad offensive teams Saturday night. One had a QB who

played about as well as he can and one had a QB who played horribly and the only difference in the score was a pick 6.

DJ was a deer in the headlights all night. I don't expect that to carry over into the season nor post season. We'll be a much better team by year's end where as Georgia will still have their limitations at QB.
