Why should it? The last time we went overseas to play games against foreign players we gained great experience and had a great season following it. I've been impressed with the team Coach Brownwell has put together with key returning players, his redshirt freshmen guard, transfers, and incoming Freshmen forwards. I also like his new BB assistants. And what are they missing? Experience playing together & being coached with their new Coaching elements. Playing several games together overseas prior to our season starting gives us exactly what we're missing.
You should be appreciating and blessing this opportunity, rather than being totally pessimistic about the situation!

I disagree that basketball hasn't been a priority at Clemson. We've dumped plenty of money into salaries and facilities under Brad, plus developed multi-media and NIL tools alongside. I'd say the contract renewals and buyout amounts were all investments in what was believed to be a turning the corner finally success story. It just hasn't turned out that way on the court. The resources, however, have been aplenty. Fortunately, I believe the new AD is aware of our past failures in longer-term commitments to the current program leadership, so we shouldn't find ourselves in that position going forward.
We have put our money where our mouth is, we've just put it behind someone that hasn't been able to rise to the occasion.
