I think this is more to cover themselves in case Clemson loses they can say, “see, we saw it coming”
It doesn’t take an expert analyst to state the obvious. Of course we have to get better to win, duh.

Also…five years ago, we started the season slow, barely beat NCST in OT, lost to Pitt and went on to win the Natty.

Why can't Clemson's defense get any pub? I mean this NC State team got beat by Miss State who just got beat by Memphis. So You can have Clemson on upset alert I don't care but absolutely can you consider yourself a reputable college football analyst if you mention NC State's defense and not Clemson's.

Uhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah………..cuz it won’t be news when Michigan gets smacked around by Northwestern or Indiana or Illinois or Minnesota or Purdue.
The actual news is, Michigan, Texas, Nebraska, USC (there’s only one) and Tennessee and all in the dumps and have been for a good long while, but this Bozo needs to make negative predictions about the 2nd winningest program in the country over the last 6-7 years.
