Signs that you're getting old

This weekend is Fall for Greenville around these here parts (Sign #1 - saying "these here parts). My wife and I were looking at seeing some concerts and were looking at Chapel Hart tonight or Nathan Angelo tomorrow night. Then I realized that Chapel Hart was last night and Nathan Angelo is tonight. Sign #2 - not knowing what day it is. We decided we'd pass - it would get us home late and neither of us are really liking dealing with the crowds, parking, etc. (Sign #3) So now we'll stay home and watch an episode of Blue Bloods (Sign #4) and then hit the bed before 11 (Sign #5). Good times.

I graduated in 1979. I am so old, I can actually remember when there was actual news on the evening news shows and not opinion, lies and slander. Also, I can remember when the late night comedy shows were funny.

Johnny Carson was the best of the late night shows. As far as news is concerned, I agree it’s mostly opinion on all of the news channels now. When I was growing up, we watched Chet Huntley/David Brinkley on NBC every night. Occasionally Walter Cronkite on CBS. I can’t remember the news guy on ABC. About the only straight up news reporter now is Bret Baier on Fox.

We quit going to Fall For Greenville because we got tired of seeing the parents pushing a baby buggy with one hand and holding their beer with the other.
Who keeps their babies out at 11pm on a cold night, and pushes them along in butt-to-butt crowds?

Getting old is great in many ways. The biggest for me is not caring about a bunch of irrelevant stuff anymore. Mid afternoon naps are great also.

Sounds so much like my life except that I didn't realize Fall for Greenville Was this weekend. We're having a cup of hot chocolate while watching what we thought was a replay of the NC State game until we got near the end and realized we were watching last year's game. ?
