Antonio, Randall, and Beaux are going to be a really good trio at WR next year. Haven't had a trio that good since Tee, Amari, and Renfrow honestly.

I hope so. We are really missing an elite outside receiver.

Hopefully someone steps up.

Keep waiting for Randall to have his breakout game where he just dominates as we've all seen on film.

I didn't expect much from him coming off the torn ACL. He didn't get to do much over the summer and fall camp.

Just wait until Noble Johnson gets in there as well

Noble and Hanafin will probably need to come in ready.

Also, Ronan Hanafin.

Haven’t seen enough from Randall to agree with this

Oct 27, 2022, 11:21 AM [ in reply to Re: Good read on Antonio Williams ]

He’s gotten high praise from the staff, but so did Ngata. Gotta see production before I buy the hype.

He torn his ACL in the spring and missed all of the summer and fall camp.

Agreed they are going to be a good trio. Antonio and Beaux have already shown it and I believe Randall will, but he is true freshman only 6 months removed from ACL surgery. He has a lot of new things on his plate as a freshman. He will be a beast!

Sign that WR recruiting needs revamping?

Oct 27, 2022, 12:09 PM

I think this is a sign that our WR recruiting philosophy needs some tinkering. How is it that our best WR received an offer late in the process? It's like going after Ajou Ajou rather than Jalin Hyatt. I don't know that I would place Misun Kelley in the tier as Williams, but it could be a sign that coaches might be focusing on some guys that can run routes and catch the ball.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

The game Jalin Hyatt had vs Bama was a total aberration.

Oct 27, 2022, 7:43 PM

He has never approached that sort of production before. If fact he has been pretty average his entire career until the Bama game.

Maybe he’ll go on a tear now and continue to be world class. Who knows.

It just seems a bit of a stretch to imply Clemson missed on him based on one game. Heck even SCAR passed on him and they offer everyone.

If Misun Kelly is half the player Mike Williams was, it will be a great pick-up. Nothing coming out of his HS career provides evidence that he’s a great WR prospect. But, maybe he is ... because like he says, “The coaches keep sayin they want me bad.”

I’ll go with the coaches ... on Jalin Hyatt and on Misun Kelly. And I’ll try to forget about Ajou Ajou.

Not to jinx anyone but his best attribute so far has been his ability to stay healthy. Been a decided lack of that talent in our WR room the last couple of years.

Still getting over the fact Jalin Hyatt has turned out to be 1 of the best WR in CFB. When he was coming out of hs, I wasn't shocked we didn't offer but I also didn't know he was blessed elite speed. The first I heard mention of his speed was after Williams had a good camp and a poster, familiar with Dutch Fork, in his praise of Williams added "he doesn't possess the track speed that Hyatt does".

I do not think the kid has dropped a ball all season, not that I can remember.

Good call - he's got terrific hands

Oct 28, 2022, 11:57 AM

Reminds me of Renfrow with the hands and the shiftiness. He made several catches vs Syracuse on less-than-perfectly thrown balls.
