SIAP but Brohm is a head scratcher for me

Dec 7, 2022, 9:18 PM

If his seat wasn’t warm, I can’t understand leaving Purdue for Louisville. I understand Fickell leaving Cincy for Wisc, and even Satterfield leaving for Cincy.

Isn't Brohm a Louisville alum? And periodically on hot seat at Purdue?

Believe you are correct sir. Played for old Evel Petrino. Now it makes sense. Otherwise it’s a lateral move.

Louisville's his alma mater

Dec 7, 2022, 9:24 PM

He was their starting QB for 3 years (2005-2007). He's also getting a ~$1m/year raise from what he was making at Purdue.

Never mind what I said about him being their starting QB. I was thinking of his brother Brian. He is a Louisville alum, though, and he's also from there.

I was wrong again. He did start for them at QB for 2 years (1992 and 1993).

The BIG has USC and UCLA coming....

Dec 7, 2022, 9:26 PM

Purdue Football is about as good as it's going to be and with the addition of those two big Schools Brohm's making a smart exit.

Louisville has a better chance of being competitive in the ACC than Purdue will be in BIG. With NIL/Portal and the CFP moving to 12 teams Brohm made a smart move.

Heck, even if it doesn't work out he'll probably have a buyout he can retire on if if gets the hook.
