Ambassador Sondland's memory sure has improved.

Nov 5, 2019, 3:20 PM

Must have some dementia or Alzheimer's to forget such highly unusual criminal behavior. He could be in a bit of hot water. I would imagine there will be more odd episodes of sudden recollection in the coming weeks in an effort to avoid harsh consequences for having lied to Congress. Having these depositions have been behind closed doors was wise.

The revised testimony he submitted after hearing the truth from others, which he neglected to mention in his initial testimony, begins on page 376.

So the USA State department was officially used, by Trump, to forgo US interests and substitute his own political domestic interests.

Please Republicans, tell me how this is totally ok. I just want everyone on record here.

That is what the Republican Party has become.

Nov 5, 2019, 4:11 PM [ in reply to Yet 62% of Trumpies say there is nothing he could do ]

The Party of Trump. It's kind of funny actually. He thinks his supporters are as dumb as rocks. He tells them what stupid #### to believe and they believe it.

I would imagine the political costs of their fealty will be significant.

admitting.

That is one of the advantages of all of these witnesses testifying behind closed doors. It makes it much harder for witnesses to coordinate their testimony and much easier to figure out who is lying. Plus, most of them aren't political hacks. They're seasoned veterans who take copious notes and document everything, unlike Trump sycophant Sondland who was a major Trump campaign donor, but a buffoon of a diplomat.

The fear of jail time will help his recollection.

Wonder why the Republicans in the hearings haven't

Nov 5, 2019, 4:26 PM

pointed to any testimony that puts Trump in a more positive light to defend him from what appears to be a serious crime?

Why have they focused only on process and not substance?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

i am not sure they have been given the opportunity

You should know that they have. They have been right there

listening and questioning.

Yet they have nothing of substance to offer in defense of Trump.

Wonder why?

2024 orange level memberbadge-donor-05yr.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

They went after Vindman to give up whistleblower's name

Nov 5, 2019, 5:06 PM

when Vindman testified.

They didn't care about the substance of the whistleblower's complaint, they just wanted his name so they could try and get at his motivations (i.e. try to claim bias).

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Trump turns everyone around him into a criminal.

Nov 5, 2019, 5:11 PM

Otherwise, he has no use for them. The contempt he has for those who support him is palpable.

Yet, they cling like a moth to flame.

It really does feel like a cult.

Nov 5, 2019, 5:33 PM

I don't understand the mental process that allows someone to fall under Trump's spell. Like you said, he doesn't care about them and it's not like "worked for Trump" is going to help you land another job. If anything, it'd keep you from working future jobs.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Not only can they not find jobs, many of them are

Nov 5, 2019, 5:53 PM

in jail.

Something tells me there will be a few more.

Plus, Roger Stone's trial is starting up.

Nov 5, 2019, 6:27 PM [ in reply to It really does feel like a cult. ]

Being afraid is a powerful tool that the pubs have learned to use well. Look at all the horrible stuff Obama did that they can't name or pinpoint or provide any evidence of ever happening. Or all the things he did that was an affront to America but now that Trump is doing it, it is OK.

The play book has been the same for a while now and unfortunately it works. Tell them something is horrible and their way of life is under attack and they buy it.
