I agree that he did more than Clark.

But I'd argue Deandre McDaniel was a more impactful Safety while at Clemson than Dawkins(again, not belittling Dawkins) but McDaniel never played in the NFL.

Yes, simply because he dated Shawn Weatherly.

D. Cox and I ran into her on Homecoming weekend around 11:00 pm at the Fastfare. I accidentally (on purpose) bumped into her. She looked at me, and all I could utter was, "Sorry...". She said no problem, and then it was over. My only chance of ever getting a hug from a 6 foot tall blonde Miss Universe ended with, "Sorry...". I felt like killing myself as we walked back to Johnstone.

Literally ran into her at the Bookstore (the bar), well actually bumped into a football player (don't think it was Clark) and bounced off him into her. Tried to say excuse me or something but just stood there...and wasn't embarrassed by my inability to speak.

Ran into her at a bar in Columbia when she was Ms Universe. I’m like all she can say is No so I asked her to dance and she said sure. After about a minute a slow song came on so kept dancing. Very nice. Still got the phone number she wrote on the back of a bar napkin

He was really good looking and all, and I say that from the perspective of someone who is also extremely handsome and can appreciate that quality in others. He had some really hot girlfriends too, but haven't we all. Other than that his time at Clemson was great, but not stellar.

No. ROH should be reserved for those who performed at the highest level when they were at Clemson.

The Rest of the Story on Dwight Clark

Probably not. I can think of many more deserving than Dwight. Dwight was actually an afterthought when it came time for the NFL draft. The coaches came to see Steve Fuller at quarterback, and Steve needed somebody to throw to that knew the routes. Dwight volunteered and the rest is history. Personally I would like to see Rodney Williams taken into consideration for the Ring. We have definitely had more talented quarterbacks, but Rodney ran the option for Danny Ford for at least 3 years and won a ton of big games for Clemson.

Ring of Honor eligibility:
A recipient must first be a member of the Clemson Hall of Fame, earn at least an undergraduate degree, and make a significant contribution to the heritage of Tiger athletics.
"This committee will recognize individuals who have demonstrated consistent and unique national excellence in their sport during their Clemson career. Their accomplishments must be significant on an individual and team basis. Their statistical accomplishments must be noteworthy, but they should also have an outstanding record in terms of leadership. ... Athletic accomplishments after their Clemson career are not a primary consideration in the nomination, but they must retain a commendable record of citizenship after they leave Clemson. "
His stats are indicative of the era. Nothing to be said. But he was second on the team in '78. 11 receptions for 207 yards and 2 touchdown, behind Butler. That is 2nd.... wow.
Good bar debate.

My question is, will Tajh Boyd make Hall of Fame, and Ring of Honor? If I had a vote, my answer would be yes to both, and IMO it will be shame on Clemson voters if he doesn't make it on both list!!!

For consideration for the Clemson HOF, first the player

has to be nominated.
Anyone ... you/me/anyone ... can make the nomination.
So many guys probably aren’t nominated because people either don’t know the process, or think that certainly a guy like Tajh Boyd has already been nominated a long time ago and just failed to be selected.
I guess what I’m saying is ... you should shoot out a nomination letter to the committee.
Once it’s in, he will be considered on his merit and honestly, it’s hard to imagine him not being voted in.
But first and foremost, he has to be nominated.
This is for the HOF. The ROH is a whole other and much more rigorous process.

It doesn't matter what we think, but as others have said...

he didn't blossom until the NFL, and he was lucky to get drafted by the Montana SF 49ers. Super Bowl city, baby. And probably living on Nob Hill with a sailboat in the SF bay. Nice gig if you can get it... with Miss Universe in your bed, Shawn Weatherly.
True story. My roommate was from Sumter, and knew her brother, can't remember the name. Anyway, he occasionally dropped by our dorm room and one Friday he was asking the guys if someone was available to date his sister, who was still in HS and coming up that weekend. Hel1 no, we were college guys and we weren't committing to babysit some HS chick...
So I've always told he story - I turned down a date with Miss Universe.
