Who do we miss the most?

Nov 4, 2013, 1:16 PM

Nuk or Boyd? I think Tajh is the greatest QB in Clemson history, but Nuk is even a better player! Discuss!

I wish Nuk played one more year.. but im happy for the kid..

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

if we had Nuk this year it would have been comical

Nov 4, 2013, 1:20 PM

how explosive our offense would have been. We'll miss Tajh but i think Nuk missing this year had a bigger effect than Tajh being gone next year. Stoudt is accurate and has better feet than he appears to. He'll be fine and Kelly will push him hard. I think we RS Watson to get a gap in years going where we'll be set at QB for a while.

if nuk was here do we beat FSU this year?

I don't think so

Nov 4, 2013, 1:30 PM [ in reply to if nuk was here do we beat FSU this year? ]

this earth who'll convince me that they are 37 points better than us this year even without Nuk. Tajh fell apart in that game. Love the kid, but fell apart. It happens. They're young men. Seck fumbles first play of game, Tajh coughs it up for a quick 6....throws bad picks with route issues, etc.. We lost our poise. I don't know if we beat them 5 of 10 but there is no way in the world that game goes like that if you eliminate the two early TO's that's an entirely different game. Our team, other than Tajh and a couple of others, wasn't ready for the national stage mentally, and when we had the early TO's they mentally fall apart. Having Nuk on the other side of Sammy would mitigate some of that.

No, but we score more

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Let's not forget Ellington...

Nov 4, 2013, 1:22 PM

Sure, we miss Nuk, but not having a legit running game allows the secondary to focus much more strongly on our receivers (mainly Sammy). Having Ellington back there definitely gave the defenses something else to think about and no doubt contributed to the season Nuk had last year.

agree 100%

Nov 4, 2013, 1:31 PM

AE was an under the radar beast for us. A kid that small with an uncanny ability to see holes and run between the tackles. That's why he's showing out in the NFL. A heck of a football player.

Boyd will be missed and this is why.

Nov 4, 2013, 1:35 PM

1. Our offensive production is the same this year as last.

2. Our record with and with-out Nuk is basically the same. I think it is logical that we will finish 10-2 or 11-1. It's not like having Nuk would have stopped that FSU beat down.

3. Boyd is not only the best QB in Clemson history, but also the best in ACC history. You don't just replace that.

4. Boyd is not only a great football player but a great ambassador for Clemson. He is the leader on and off the field.

I think we miss Brandon Ford the most. TE play has been awful.

Re: Dwayne Allen***

Nov 4, 2013, 2:16 PM

I think they have found a replacement for both Ford and Allen. He may not be as good but Leggett has shown that he may have been our best bet at TE all year. Wish he would have realized earlier in the year that he needs to work had a practice to get into the games. He's going to be as good as Ford and Allen when it's all over for him at Clemson.

military_donation.jpg flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Agreed - remember, Ford was a WR at this point in his career

Nov 4, 2013, 2:20 PM

It took him 3+ years to settle into the TE role. Give Leggett some time and he'll mature just fine. There's growing pains for sure, but I think he'll be a great TE in the long run.
