Great piece David. Thanks for the Thanksgiving gift.
How cool that as a sports journalist at little ol’ Clemson you have opportunities like this.
Happy Thanksgiving to you, Nikki, and the family.

and while you're at it, watch "Tender Mercies", too. A very under rated film and one of my favorites, ever.
What a great report, David, thanks! And this says as much about Dabo as it does Mr. Duvall - so glad he's a Tiger!!!

I second your comment about “The Apostle” being a great film. I think he wrote it, produced it and starred in it.

You'll be glad you did because it is one of the best westerns ever filmed. Great cast and superb acting. Tommy Lee Jones and Robert Duvall put on a show for the ages .

One of the all time great actors IMO. Seems like a perfect fit for a Clemson fan.
Only role he ever played that I recall not liking was that jerk-face motorcycle cop in a James Caan movie from the 60s. Can't recall the movie name even though the wife and I just watched it a couple weeks ago.

…University.
It has been a tough year in the “L” column this year, but at NO POINT have I ever thought we need a new head coach, despite what may seem like the view of many posts on this board during the past 3 months.
Have I yelled at the TV watching some of TE’s play calling? Yeah, I have, but CDS is steering this ship, and he has taken Clemson’s program to heights I frankly had only previously dreamed of. I believe that he has put together the right kind of people that surround him and the program.
Aside from the football aspect of it, I loved Duvall’s comment about CDS as a”leader of men”. Listening to CDS over the years, he is an INSPIRATIONAL leader. His faith in God has grounded him in so many positive ways, and it translates to a view of life and service and commitment that is contagious to anyone who has worked or even listened to him intently and consistently.
I hope that CDS is the head coach for Clemson’s football team for the next 20 years.

Dabo Swinney is our Head Coach for as long as he wants to coach in my opinion . I can't believe anyone would want any other coach leading the Clemson University football program.

If you haven’t seen him as Vince Vaughan’s father in Four Christmases make sure to catch that - I’m sure it will be on a few times over the next month. Hilarious lines only he could deliver.

Great article about two men I count as 'National Treasures', Robert Duvall and Dabo Swinney. I am a big fan of Duvall as a man who doesn't just live life, he bites big chunks.?. Lonesome Dove is like a dear old friend I visit at least once a year.
David Hood, you more than did just them justice. Thanks!7

Robert Duvall one my favorite actors is one of the very best at playing a cowboy . His role as Augustus McCrae is classic acting . I am glad to hear he is a Clemson fan and had a memorable trip to our great campus!
