Through. Please keep that in mind before you start bashing him. Expecially when you HAVE NO FREAKING CLUE what even went into his decision .
Thanks for all you gave to Clemson Scott. Thank you for coming all the way from Hawaii. Once a Tiger, always a Tiger. I wish you the best going forward.

I haven't seen anyone bashing him. Just disappointment. I'm sure he has good reasoning. He is a long ways away from home so maybe he wants to play on the west coast for a year?

Whatever his decision, it was his. He contributed. He got his degree. What the heck else do people want?

family moved to SC or Georgia. Biggest thing is there won't be many good places to transfer now, and he'll have to wait for non-qualifiers to pop up or pay his own way.

I wish him luck and am grateful for what he has done but that does not excuse him from quitting on our team.

He didn't QUIT. He got his degree and helped lead us to the National Championship. He finished. PERIOD. No quitting there.
I want him to stay, not happy with the move. But he ain't no #### quitter.

It is one thing to move on to the NFL but moving to a different college team is most certainly quitting on our team. He may have a good reason besides not just wanting to be a starter but he still is leaving for a different college team that could end up playing us. Betrayal I say.

We're gonna have to agree to disagree on this one CmoneyTiger
Betrayal is a strong word for a man that gave so much to Clemson. Not very cool of you.

He did and I thank him for that but why is okay for him to just leave when he has another year to give to his teammates. He was a leader on this team and left them. I know it is his life and his decision but I think it is messed up.

You do realize he could have declared for the draft? Would he have been quitting on his team then?
He fulfilled his agreement to Clemson and is leaving with a degree. You obviously don't understand what a quitter is.

He came to Clemson, played his butt off, was a cog in our winning many games (including the National Title), represented Clemson well (by all accounts), and got his degree.
Honestly, shake his hand, wish him well, and next man up.
He owes you NOTHING. Stop acting entitled to something you simply are not.

He does not owe anybody anything. That does not mean he is not quitting on his teammates. I have all the respect in the world for him guys that does not make it any different. He is leaving the team not to go pro but to start at a different school. Going pro is one thing

So if he had his degree and got a job with eligibility left

|

would that be quitting? Maybe he's going to go to a school with a different grad program.
When he committed to Clemson we promised to give him an opportunity to get a college degree and he promised to give us 4 years. Both parties fulfilled their commitments. It was Clemson's choice to redshirt him and leave him with eligibility left.
Its the exact same as every other student that graduates in 4 years. Congrats to him.

I don't get that reasoning

I don't see how you can frame it as quitting on his team, and still argue he doesn't owe anything to you or the team.
I just don't see those as logical positions to hold together.
Quitting on the team would be him leaving prior to a season ending. Quitting when the mission was still in play.
After coming to Clemson, playing dang hard, graduating, and winning a National Title, why not take the view he had a great run at Clemson and not try to apply some negative view of what you feel he didn't do?
I just don't understand that way of thinking.
Shake his hand and wish him well. Next man up.

It is what it is I am not saying it is wrong for him to do. He is still leaving a team he was a leader on to go to another team on the same level of competition so call it what you want to but it is what it is.

While difficult to lose a very good player, he was not likely to start at Clemson, in 2017. Does his decision hurt as a Tiger? Sure. He did however, fulfill a commitment, just as Deshaun, Ben, Mike, etc.
CBSSports.com currently ranks Pagano as one of the top 10 defensive tackles in the 2018 NFL Draft Class. By positioning himself as a starter, on any number of top tier teams, he is likely materially improving that projection. This decision comes down to that future and his knowing that he is putting himself in the best position possible to leverage a good contract in the NFL. It's really hard to argue that.

Everybody seems to forgot the comments said he wants to start his graduate degree, grad transfer rules say the degree can't he available at the current school to transfer.
Seems like to me he wants a Masters degree and it's not available at Clemson otherwise he could have just declared for the draft.
