SCAR's two losses were to teams currently unranked

On the flip side, Tigers have no wins over teams currently ranked. Need to beat OSU to have a win this season over a team that finishes in the top 25.
Not sure what to make of it, but that's how this season has played out and that's football.
So is it better to be 9-3 with a loss to FSU, a win over SCAR, but two additional losses to some bad teams and no OB?

DSP: What do you mean by fabrication? I think the final polls are rather telling of the true quality of the opponent instead of any polls from the first few weeks of the season.
An alternate way of looking at it would be if Clemson beat an unranked team at the beginning of the season but that team went on to win the rest of their games and play for the NC (similar to an Auburn from the Cam Newton year). Are you saying Clemson beating a National Championship team early in the season would be a "fabrication" of an accomplishment?

resemblance to the team they started with, thanks to injuries. Are you really that dense?

Thanks for the personal insult JD, maybe I am. Maybe I'm struggling to maintain a single coherent thought for more than 3 seconds. I could have all kinds of issues. Or maybe my income is in the top 5% in the country and I'm far from dense.
My original post simply stated what teams on the schedule were ranked at the end of the year and DSP stated something about considering that factor was a "fabrication". Okay then, if we're not going to look at final polls then logic follows that one can't take credit for beating an unranked team that goes on to win the National Championship.

blunder to think every situation will fit into your nice little box. a
if you make yourself believe clemson didn't beat the #5 team in the nation all things considered, you're lying to yourself to prove another point. a point which you tried to make by bringing in a completely different scenario, one which deserves its own consideration.

one moment you believe the decimated uga team that played later in the year is the same team clemson beat and then went on to beat scar and lsu, then our football conversations end now.
an alternative way is always welcomed to a hard and fast rule in these situations which leaves out too many variables and doesn't come close to telling the story. it's one of the very reasons they are finally saying goodbye to the computers[thank ####### gawd] and the selection committee will be tasked in remedying.
i'm glad people will be finally be making the big boy decisions again because we can reason these things.
well, some of us any way.

I don't disagree, but my original post was simply stating the "hard and fast rule" of what teams were ranked at the end of the season.
I didn't say the Georgia win wasn't worthy of praise. I simply stated that unless there is an OSU win in the OB then the Tigers will have no wins over teams that finished ranked. Likewise, SCAR's two losses were to teams that finished unranked.
Since you brought up the selection committee, I think they will take an approach similar to the NCAA Tourney committee. So if the playoffs were this year, Clemson would get significant credit for the Georgia win but the NCAA Tourney committee always gives more weight to how a teams are finishing the season.....another way of saying the final polls, which is what I am talking about.
