Spurrier ran him like a dog didnt he...

Nov 4, 2014, 8:31 AM

i remember posting about this years back that you can't run a kid 40 times in a college game. I know winning is the goal but these are kids not machines. Unfortunately when you commit to the wrong schools you end up regretting it. Would've been nice to have seen Marcus in orange with a fruitful NFL year like the rest of our guys.

I'd have to go back and dig up my old recruiting files

But I think his grades were questionable. I know we recruited but don't remember if he cleared Clemson academic review board.

Geville Tiger on Clemson football , "Dabo's only problem is he has to deal with turd fans questioning every move he makes.”

Lattimore was never coming to Clemson.....

His sister, who was already a student at $CU, got a full academic ride in exchange for his signature.

there were no grade issues with Lattimore

and we most definitely recruited, but it was a Auburn/UCS decision.... We were falling out of favor with the Byrnes program due to Korn, etc.-- not sure if that had an impact-- I think it was more of his sister being there and saw an opportunity to play right of way-- they were selling the whole Mr Football streak at the time and had Gilmore, Alshon etc

Don't make me take up for Slurrier

A RB is supposed to carry the ball as much as needed. Funny Old Sac is being criticized for not running the ball more now.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Yes, a lot of carries has nothing to do with how

Nov 4, 2014, 8:44 AM

that hit happened. Attack Steve all you want, just be sensible when you do it.

Was thinking the same thing. That play could have been ML's

Nov 4, 2014, 8:59 AM

first in his career and the result would have been just as devastating. Just a very unfortunate collision.

Maybe SS's reliance on ML would have been a factor down the line but we'll never know because of that injury. Just my opinion.

We did use Spiller quite a bit, not 30-40 carries. But was used in the running, receiving and the return game....had a lot of touches despite playing hurt his Sr. year. Tho I guess the only good thing with him is he didn't take a lot of big hits, it was more exhaustion from big plays haha.

By all accounts, Marcus Lattimore....

Nov 4, 2014, 8:53 AM

is a young man with a very high level of character and integrity in spite of the negative influences that surrounded him down at that Cesspool.

Conversely, you have Clowney who is laying around on his fat lazy a$$, collecting his big checks, and milking every little ache and pain for all its worth while Lattimore would give his left ######## for one more opportunity to play again for free.

As Ernest Hemingway once wrote, “The world breaks everyone and afterwards many
are stronger at the broken places”.

Resilience turns victims into survivors and allows survivors to thrive. It may not be in the NFL, but Marcu Lattimore will thrive. I have my doubts the same can be said for Mr. Clowney.

There is plenty that I criticize the OBS about. And I do think all most all things garnet are fair game. This is a pretty silly attack, IMHO. There is absolutely zero correlation to Marcus injury and the way that OBS used him.

It is like saying that Watson's injury is because Dabo played him too much as a true freshman. I think both fan bases lose some credibility on the true stuff, when they spout this kind of nonsense. Hey, just my opinion.

That is what coaches do. I remember back in the day Frank Howard ran his tailback, Buddy Gore, quite often. You go with what works.
