Saturday Night News and Notes

*"Bend not break" defense - our defense broke. Missed assignments, poor tackling, too soft of coverage, and just an inability to make the big plays they had opportunities to make. I don't know if we need better players or better coaches, but this current system does not work.
*2nd half play calling - what the shi* kind of offensive play calling was that? We had great momentum in the 1st half and really burned them with a few plays. Saw no big play attempts in the 2nd half, never saw a pass to a TE, and obviously did not use the RB as a pass blocker as much as needed.
*Death Valley - nowhere near what it should have been for this game. I'm pretty sure it was louder for both the Auburn and FSU games last year. Why should we expect them to be intimidated when their travelling fans were almost as loud as our home crowd? How could we let them come in our house and just take us out in the 2nd half like that? Should have had Ray Lewis give a halftime speach. That game was ours to lose.
*SC fans - never seen a crowd that seemed to be looking for a fight as hard as they were. Before the game even started, there was a slight scuffle between 2 of ours and 1 of theirs because he was screaming obscenities to our fans.
*Clowney - yes, they actually call him "Doo Doo." 2 ##### behind me screamed it every time he stepped on the field.
*Me - last night marked my last Clemson home game as a student. Yes, that means we went 0-4 vs. those as*holes while I was here. Yes, I sat through the 2010 season (every home game) and the Orange Bowl debacle. Yes, I've taken a lot of crap from friends about my school and team. Through all this, I still tell them every time that I would rather be a Tiger. Our players don't celebrate dirty hits or the fact that they got a personal foul called on them. Our team and fans don't run and hide after every loss. Our coach doesn't run his mouth nonstop about OTHER teams, he only talks about our team and always gives credit where it is due to the other team. Our coach doesn't take credit for wins or pass the blame for losses. Most importantly, though, I don't scream for ##### in my mouth every time I cheer for my team.

"Gamecocks aren’t ready to take college football by storm just yet. They’re not even ready to compete in their own state – Clemson will still own the territory. Gamecocks fans would be smart to keep their heads buried until that time. Avoid talking trash to a much better Clemson program.” -Dustin Tackett
