Good morning everyone how was your weekend?

Mar 14, 2022, 7:37 AM

Friday night, went to a buddy's house to have a bonfire and meet his new puppy. Nice relaxing time.

Saturday, ran a few errands then off to a beer share/ early St. P party. Much fun was had.

Sunday, had a group beer brewing day for an event the home brew club is doing. All grain makes for a much longer day than extract brewing. Couple that with Tom Brady turning into Brett Farve and people being crybabies about the time change made for a long day.

Friday was busy

Mar 14, 2022, 7:39 AM

Went to town, had a nice evening. Did some shopping. Bought a suit. Did some grocery shopping. Ate. Got home late.

Saturday: Doctor told wife she had to rest this weekend for some medical issues. I ended up piddling around the house doing some minor chores.

Sunday: Meal prepped for the week.

Not a bad weekend.

Fri - Skipped out at lunch and took the boat to the lake, caught 7 bass (no biguns)

Sat - Worked around the house, been fighting with a bird trying to build a nest on my porch, think I finally won. Went to the baseball game in the 8th inning. Met fam and in-laws at redbowl for dinner.

Sun - Church in the morning, went to Home Depot and Lowe's for a water heater thermostat. Attempted to install new thermostat. Fail. Worked on my kayak, laundry, dinner, night night

Saturday, lazy. Did a little work. Grocery run. Bourbon and steaks for supper. Sunday was Church, confirmation classes for oldest (we catered), visited mom, bout it.

Fairly chill on Friday, wedding downtown on Saturday, went to a friend's kid's birthday Sunday. Drank beer and bourbon. You know.

Saturday I tried to clean out the dryer vent pipe using a

Mar 14, 2022, 8:08 AM

tool I bought online. It is a brush that goes on your cordless drill and has fiberglass pieces that you gradually add to extend the brush all the way through the pipe. I think this particular one goes like 35' total.

Our dryer vent pipe has not been cleaned ever, house was built about 7 years ago. We have 4 dogs, 3 kids, and the dryer is constantly running. I should have done this earlier. About 6 feet into the job, the fiberglass piece broke off and left the brush stuck in the pipes. I had to crawl under the house and disassemble the entire system in order to get the brush out then just clean it from under the house. A 15 minute job took me at least an hour. I still need to get back under there and get all the lint.

Good weekend though, wife's birthday is today so we celebrated on Saturday. Skipped church on Sunday.

Mar 14, 2022, 8:11 AM

Thursday, quit work a little early and headed up to Charlotte to grab a bite at Sabor. Birria tacos were delicious, then strolled over to the Neighborhood Theater for the Hillbilly Casino and Reverend Horton Heat show for an awesome rockabilly show.

Friday, took the day off and was as lazy as possible. RH Mom fell and twisted her knee the week before and was nearly immobile, so it's been back and forth to her house for a week and it was nice to catch up on sleep and do a lot of nothing for a day. Late afternoon trip by the liquor store to snag a couple of things, a visit with RH Mom, then back home to toss some burger, tater slices, and stuffed jalapenos on the griddle. 'Twas delish, ate too much, laid around in food coma the rest of the evening.

Saturday, the massive weather change blew up my sinuses and I pretty well slept off and on all day. Finally started to feel OK late afternoon, grabbed a shower and a quick sandwich then headed out for MEDIUM volume acoustic jam. The boys were on point all night, got a lot of material in and it sounded good.

Sunday, still wasn't feeling 100% and a time change to further monkey wrench things, but finally soldiered on to fill up the truck with precious GasCoin and made a grocery run. Back home to put groceries away, over to stay with RH Mom for a few hours until Sis got home from Clemson, then back home to eat S U P P E R. Watched Walking Dead then crashed.

18.55/19 Covids...Highs of live music show, jam session, and Clemson basketball cementing season with a winning record. Lows of sinus, Clemson baseball losing first game of the season.

Friday night I worked late and went to bed early.

Mar 14, 2022, 8:29 AM

Slept like sheet Thursday night, so I needed the rest.

Woke up bright and early Saturday morning. Snow storm blew through, likely the last one of the season, and I took the opportunity to go grocery shopping while everyone else was hunkered down. Got my corned beef and cabbage for Thursday.

Yesterday I swapped my 29 gallon tank with a 45 gallon. The fish seem happier and I'm pleased with the upgrade. Hopefully everyone survives. Also, in the process of breaking down the old tank I found a pleco I hadn't seen in three weeks, which was a nice surprise.

Went by way too fast, but got a lot done. 6/10.

Friday, pretty much of of a nada day...

Sattidy Alpha Phi Omega picked up 40 bags of litter from the lake to to Food Lion along 123. Hit Tipsy Taco afterwards. Also raised $120 for the APO Keese Scholarship fund.

Sunday watched the TPC but never figured out what round it was

7/10 (13.3/19 on the RH Covid scale) with deductions for cold and wind on sattidy.

Friday set up an Echo for mom so if she gets in a bind and can’t find her phone she can still call someone

Saturday was a judge for the Doko Ribfest. Looks like a great annual event when the weather is more cooperative. They even had a Bloody Mary station along with all the usual bbq festival trappings.

Sunday was lunch with mommer n dems, she’s learned how to make Alexa fart - yep she’s my mom alright

Saturday night I went to bed after eating a slice of cake.

Mar 14, 2022, 8:50 AM

Woke up around 2AM to empty my bowels. Made a couple wipes and went back to bed.

Woke up again around 6:30AM to the sound of my kids screaming, the smoke detectors going crazy, and my alarm system screaming "Fire!" in a robotic voice. Made it to the top of the stairs to have my son tell me it's raining downstairs.

Still half asleep I rushed down the stairs and was immediately drenched by a waterfall coming from one of the smoke detectors. The floors had around a half inch of water in the kitchen and dining room and my can lights and dining room fixture were also raining. I ran back upstairs to find my master bathroom full of water and a toilet still running as it overflowed the bowl.

Currently in my office, with the door closed to muffle the 95db fans and awaiting the arrival of a crew to tear out all the ceilings downstairs and rip up 70% of the flooring in my house.

The cake was pretty good though.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Well that does not sound ideal.

Friday: Dinner was pasta and kale salad with kale from the garden. Watched "The Last Duel" on HBO max. It was quite good. A.

Saturday: Sort of a blur. Cold but we didn't get more than a dusting of snow. Made homemade biscuits. Went to the gym and got a good workout in. Supper club at friends' house that night. Great food as always. A.

Sunday: We slept in through church. Picked up sonof from his grandparents and met their new puppy. Grocery run. Went on a long walk to a new (for us) playground in the neighborhood. Went to a friend's house for dinner. Burgers on the grill. A.

Overall: A.

and complained about a weekend, so I will not today. It was good and bad.

Friday - went to a really good dinner and had sliders. No booze, just food. Kids loved it and we had these "pizza tots" that were just absolutely amazing.

Saturday - took my son to basketball camp and then my daughter to gymnastics class. Went to the mall to return some things I purchased online. Lots and lots and lots of hot moms at the mall, need to go there more often and drool. Dinner was Italian meatballs and some tortellini.

Sunday - don't really care to talk about the morning, but life marches on and time to work harder. Pizza dinner with friends watching basketball and selection show, then I marched my ### to the pub and drank until 1am. It happened and I really don't care. Walked home and sulked.

Sitting in the gym locker room now stalling before hitting the pool. Stalling.........

Sucky and kinda slow....

Mar 14, 2022, 9:29 AM

Friday - Horrible day at work. One of our long-time employees and one of the original group of production workers hired in 2010 committed suicide on Thursday night/early Friday morning, reportedly after a domestic dispute. He was a loud and boisterous personality and was well-liked by all of the employees. No one saw it coming. As can be expected, there was a lot of emotion and I spent most of the day talking to and consoling people. I knew him better than probably any of our production workers, so it hit close to me as well. Met wife-of for dinner at The Galley and then went home and crashed early.

Saturday - took daughter to Waffle House, then hit grocery store and spent the afternoon laying around and watching basketball. Took wife and daughter to Saffron in G'vile. It was excellent as usual.

Sunday - woke up feeling like crap. All old man injuries hurting on the same day and was exhausted due to not sleeping well on Fri/Sat night. Played hooky from church and sat on my #### most of the day. Fixed some dinner and then helped son-of with on-line school tests.

Still waiting on arrangements to be made, but at least one day this week isn't going to be much better.

my wife's cousin...his wife died on Saturday after a bout with basically a body full of cancer. 32 years old, eat slap up with cancer from head to toe. No rhyme or reason. They were both autistic and were perfect for each other, they basically helped each other live. I am so sad for him as it will be tough for him to find a mate as perfect as her.

Life can really be hard.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Had allergies/illness/fever last week (not Covid).

Mar 14, 2022, 10:08 AM

Had a 10 mile race scheduled for Saturday morning and felt well enough to run. Felt good for the first half but began to fatigue and lose energy by mile 7. Sucked it up the best I could over the last 3 miles but my time was 5.5 minutes slower than last year. Was lazy the rest of the day. Had #####.

Slept in Sunday morning and went for a 5 mile trail run as soon as the temps got above freezing. Dropped a glove in the driveway on the way to the car. When I got to the trail head I only had one glove. Not wanting to look stupid wearing one glove, and not wanting to drive back home I ran without gloves. Hands froze and hurt for hours. Cold sucks.

Son of passed drivers test Sunday afternoon.

Time change sucks.

Good...

Mar 14, 2022, 10:14 AM

Friday night got home and dealt with wife of having her feelings hurt over some thing to do with my ex-wife texting my sister-in-law about something that we didn't already know but should have about my oldest. My relationship with my oldest is kind of ###### because his mom lets him get away with anything he wants and we don't, so he's been spending less and less time with us and more and more with his mom. I'm pretty stoic and have come to grips with choices he is making but my wife is super-emotional and takes everything personally. So anyway, once that was quelled, we ordered out for dinner and ate pretty well. She hit the bed super early, but woke up when I came in and we got some couple time.

Woke up Saturday and got some more couple time and went back to sleep. By the time I woke up again, she had left for a hair appointment and my daughter had been called into work. So I got up and took the dogs out and started a skillet breakfast thing with hash browns and sausage and onions and mushrooms with fried eggs nested in them. Baby got up, younger son got up, wife got home and daughter got home around the time it was done so we ate like kings. Worked around the house all day pretty much and then the kids wanted chili for dinner so that's what we had. Wife and I listened to music and then hit the sack exhausted.

Sunday got up and made egg pocket biscuits. Scrambled eggs in the big carbon steel pan cooked super thin and flipped then put a piece of cheese, turkey sausage and fold the edges over. Flip to cook it sealed and melt the cheese, then load it on the biscuit. Was pretty dang good. Smoked chicken with sweet potatoes and squash for dinner after running errands most of the day. Again hit the sack exhausted.

I converted my griddle to natural gas at our old house but have been quoted 4000 to run a line at the new house due to the length of the line and the need for an updated gas meter. Can't find the old nozzles to convert it back. Need to come up with a solution. Maybe just buy a new Blackstone.

IT WAS ABSOLUTELY RUINED YESTERDAY

Mar 14, 2022, 10:21 AM

Clemson let me down again, all I wanted was an NIT bid, and alas.......nothing.

this can never happen again

We shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air, we shall defend our program, whatever the cost may be, we shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing grounds, we shall fight in the fields and in the streets, we shall fight in the hills; we shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this program or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by Cliff Hammonds, would carry on the struggle, until, in God's good time, the New World, with all its power and might, steps forth to the rescue and the liberation of the old.
