After reading the artical with Dabo stating Sammy "could" play against Aubrun, my hope is that he wants Auburn to be preparing for him to play as I believe any team would. But I hope that Dabo does the right thing here and sits him for a game. I know he's been staying out of trouble and working his way out of the dog house, but they're has to be some kind of punishment less we be no better than the University of Scholarship Criminals. Sammy is an upstanding person and made a dumb decision. I've made several in my life as most of y'all have as well but I think that sitting him for the first game would be a way of setting the example that no one is above the team. Everyone has to be accountable for they're actions. I also think it would be good for Sammy too having to stand on the sideline and give the others observations and encouragement. Just one mans opinion. Can't wait to get the season underway and as always ...Go Tigers!

Auburn and Ball State unfortunately, however I agree with first poster that it could be good for him to watch and encourage from sideline, and he will be raring to go for rest of season! Go Tigers Just Win!

Auburn will prepare for Sammy, but if he doesn't play, i doubt that provides Clemson a strategic advantage. however, if Dabo holds the decision until gametime, it will only bring more attention (national tv) to the situation.
but Sammy will play against Auburn. If Dabo was planning to sit him, he would have already announced it to gain the respect w/ his decision. Dabo is looking for the media spin to give him cover, but Sammy will play against Auburn.

the price as part of the pre-trial intervention program he is going through. Let's not forget he's a Freshman STUDENT-athlete, who is bound to make a mistake. I don't know how your first year at Clemson went, but I could have easily been arrested for some of the things I did, but got lucky and didn't. And my friends that did, weren't asked to sit out of school for any period of time.
He made a mistake and got arrested during a non-football period of activity. These guys aren't getting paid to be professional athletes year-round, and if that's the worst thing he's going to do during his tenure at Clemson, I'd consider him a pretty #### good kid.
Don't get me wrong...I believe in setting a precedent, but to punish a previously model student and athlete for an isolated incident is going overboard in my opinion.

I agree. We dont know Dabo has Sammy doing now that might be part of his punishment. Completing PTI is not easy and I know it involves community service as part of the program. But reguardless of the final decision Dabo makes, lets ALL support Sammy and Dabo as we move forward.
